300 2T for motard duty

Been thinking of picking up a KTM 300 for off-road duty with an option for some occasional motard track day action. Couple of questions:
1) Any idea if my 2005 KTM 525 motard wheels will fit a 300? If so, what years?
2) Anybody tried a 2T 300 on tarmac for motard action?

Any thoughts?

Cant comment on the wheels, but have raced with a guy who has a 2T 300 and it is more than capable on the tarmac.

I have an 05 300exc as a dual sport (road legal) and it was great fun on the road. Have a set of cbr250 wheels almost ready to go on, just missing the spacers and tyres. Not getting used anymore as I moved country and have another 2T dual sport (DT200wr). Want to buy the ktm or wheels?
