Saw a guy on a CBR250 stoped under the Nauranga flyover yesterday. I was in the van so I stoped and asked if he wanted to chuck the bike in.

He said his chain came off and he couldn't get it back on, but help was on the way.

Good to see he was wearing proper protective gear though. :2thumbsup

:Oi: A couple of lessons in this that could save you and someone else a lot of bother.

1. Maintain your chain's tension.
2. Carry sufficent tools to fix any minor problems.

A derailed chain can be a dangerous thing if you are in urgent need of power to your back wheel.

Good stuff - good to hear that fellow KBers are looking out for bikers in need of assistance. Well done that man.

Good advice on the chain too, a chain coming off on the motorway is a recipe for disaster!!

on the topic, if your chain is loose enough to fall off, it should be easy enough to get back on, even properly maintained chains, most of the time, Pull over, try get the chain to hook on the top rear sprocket even if its one tooth, flick it in first and roll forward and then back until it pops on, normally works - just be careful when accelerating / slowing as the slack normally throws it back off if your to violent with the throttle.

good on you though.
