Was reading a card on a yellow Norton at MC Meca Invercargill when I read the news :shit:, never knew. Bob reconditioned the motor on my 1979 Triumph T140E for road use and it is a testiment to his skill, its been bulletproof so far after 30, 000 miles, he knew his stuff. Great man to talk bikes and deal with in my experience. many mechanics down here talk of his guru-ness with his passion with Nortons

I used to work with Bob when he was in the UK; a number of years back. He was one of the nicest strongest giants you could ever meet. His knowledge of British bikes was immense and so was his expertise; especially with engines. I have only just found this information out today. I still have his face looking at me every day on a set of coasters that he gave to me; so every time I have a coffee he is looking at me. Sad news but a great guy and his rebuilds will live on.
