RMZ250 which oil?

Hi I recently upgraded from a 99 XR250 to a 2012 RMZ250 Ive heard you should always use the same oil in a bike and I know the previous owner was using motul 10w40.

I've got some motul 10w40 3100 at home left over from the xr and I was wondering if I could use that in the RMZ? But the manual reccomends motul 300v?

Nothing wrong with switching brands of oil. Bike shops use whatever brand is giving them the best bulk deal - they often change from year to year in the workshop. If you are using hte same shop for servicing then they won;t necessarily stick with the same brand year in and out, change shops and chances are they use a different oil.

3100 is semi synthetic, 3000v is full synthetic.
