I totally promise to mock mercilessly at the end of the year (though now we all live in Trumpistan, whether there will be an end of this year is an open question).

In 2017 I will finish a project - one way or another.

Rationalise the pushbike and motorbike fleet.

Have a proper holiday in April.

I think ill get a parking permit for the car to be on the street. Make room for one or two more bikes. 2017 looks promising for a track bike.

Started my new years resolutions early this year (starting shit earlier also counts as a resolution), lose 10kg, run half marathon, finish off or bin long term projects taking up space in the shed so I can move medium term projects into their place, and start new ones.

And change a few online habits to ensure a rounded and positive internet experience. So I'll catch you fuckers on the flip side :bleh:

However I suspect that, as usual, I'll achieve bugger all.

I will continue to NOT plan my life around a religious fundamentalists birthday or the calendar system derived thereof.....

I dont do next year stuff or five year plans etc... I do right now stuff.
Right now im endeavouring to remind myself to type forum stuff in notepad so the gSCB doesnt freeze my forum type window everytime i type a juicy post with keywords in it....

But just to be social threadwise..... Buy a cave with shed attached, take awesoem holidays and roadtrips, practice making babies but dont have any real ones, dont spend any money - see first action lol....

Going to be a shit load of changes at work (a wind down company) - though the division I am currently in appears a growth market...

So - 2017, high possibility of finding another job. If the world is nice to be just after getting my redundancy payment

But probably not..

I've decided to be kinder. Non specific, just applying that to all aspects of life.

I've only had two glasses of wine tonight - there, I am being kinder to my liver already.

I've resisted the urge to be cruel to a post or two on KB so far - kinder.

D'oh! If the road's closed then there's a very good reason...

However, quite some gutsy woman... and probably also very lucky.

The day before I was at the south rim, everything north of Williams was closed because of the blizzard which blew itself out over night. Next morning the roads were ploughed and open... there is something truly spectacular about standing at a rim observation point and looking down into the canyon which is dusted with snow almost to the Colorado River.

I did a day trip to the Grand canyon from vegas. As you say spectacular views. However once we had seen it from a couple of outlooks it started to look more and more like a great big hole in the ground. Next time a hike/ride/ tour to the bottom will be in order.
While in Oregon be sure to check out Crater Lake.

Agree about the Grand Canyon, though it is worth seeing...

Crater Lake is why Oregon is still on the list - September drove from Seattle to San Diego down the coast. The Oregon coast is amazing: either rock cliffs plunging into the ocean or wide expanses of white sands and dunes. And everyone we spoke to was, justifiably, proud that the coast is in public ownership.

Yep Oregon Coast is worth a look. Plenty of little towns to spend a day/night at and they all have something different to offer.

This is 10 minutes from my place.

Self quote. Im to lazy to start a thread.
2017 is progressing well. Towbar booked in for the car and wifey now realises a trailer and track bike will follow at some stage.

Well today I started re-painting the fascias on my house. I also built the first of three planter boxes for shrubs to give us more privacy when enjoying the sun in the back yard. I guess that's an achievement.

I used to repair appliances in quite a few towns and cities. ChCh is the only place where the ladies seemed to sunbath topless or naked in their backyards. Maybe its the fact all the houses were on the same level and it was less likely to be spotted. Maybe its something in the air.

Quite likely the flatness helps (no two story houses in our street) ... and perhaps Chch gals are a bit more comfortable letting it all hang out.

It is such an arse crossing town southbound at present within the 4 aves. Options are Fitz or Barbadoes but Manchester is fucked majorly with that stupid Gerry Brownlee vanity project involving a lot of construction panel fencing and fuck all progress, and they are digging the SHIT out of Durham St again. Colombo is a pain in the arse because it terminates at Kilmore pretty much.

And dont get me started on that ridiculous 30kph speed limit.

Ok, so there's a week to go. Next Saturday, 14th January 2017, I will be hosting a Meet The Candidate session at Mungavin Community Hall in Porirua between 1pm and 3pm. I am the Candidate and I will be contesting the 2017 general election for the Mana Electorate.

Whilst this session is primarily directed towards the constituents of the Mana Electorate, I encourage everyone in the Greater Wellington area, and further a field should you wish, to come along and join the conversation.

NOW, I'm not a politician as I have spent the last 20 years as an analyst/programmer. Also, I have no wish to be a politician. So, why am I standing? Well, about 10 years ago I decided to join the human race and care about the social and ecological environment that supports 7+ billion people.

10 years ago I asked myself that question, "Could we all live without using money as a measure for accessing resources?". I'm sure plenty of you have asked that same question over the years. And so started a long and slightly torturous analysis of how and why we setup up our economy the way we do. That journey has been an eye opener of epic proportions given where I was in terms of social and economic understanding.

All good, but why am I standing? Well, I actually found an answer to that question. Actually I found thousands of answers, but like Thomas Edison said when making his light bulb: "I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work.". Also like Edison, I've found a light bulb that will work, and this is why I am standing for parliament.

As I mentioned earlier, becoming an MP isn't exactly at the top of my list of things I want to be when I grow up. In fact it's much closer to the bottom. However, I chose to join the human race, to participate fully, to do what needs to be done because it needs doing, whether I like it or not!

We have a rather large shit-storm on the horizon that none of our parliamentary representatives seem to be stepping up to meet. So I'm stepping up!

Gather together your concerns and come and meet me, come and Meet the Candidate... and who knows, I may well be able to show you a logical, reasonable and common sense way to turn your concerns into a working light bulb.

Please share this with everyone you know, as we have a chance to light a torch that will, without question, benefit every man, woman and child in Aotearoa.

I hope to see you there.

Love n hugs, Gordon xoxoxo

Lots of things still ain't fixed, but hey. Of course you can donate. Simply misinterpret what was written above as envy or communist or indeed misinterpret it in a completely different way, et voila. If you fail, don't be disheartened, just go to this link (https://www.facebook.com/GM4Mana/posts/514891730656920) and read the conversation with AI about how easy it is to start ending involuntary homelessness any time any government fancies and without the need to ask for more money (In NZ's case, we might save a few mill) or borrow, coz you should be able to misrepresent that without fail or you're likely a bit human.
