A lot of you guys/girls have prob not long ago sat your licence....

My boy is only a few months away from beable to sit his learners licence.
riding / bike handling is no prob for him he's been doing the trail rides for a
couple years now...
I remember a young fella a few houses down the road when I was in nelson "long time ago"
done a week long course and came out the other end with his learners licence "car & bike"
is there anything like that still around in the Christchurch area....

Thanks
pete

I haven't heard of any place doing that sort of thing. You could do if in a day by doing the basic handling course and then both of the theory tests afterwards

Not that I've heard of in christchurch, my kids have all reasonably recently been through the licence system.

Learners tests are just done on a computer (with the prerequisite BHS test required for the motorcycle learners), total time for car and bike is a couple of hours so can't see why it would take a week, get both road codes out from the local library and get studying.

There are a few local options for the basic handling test, including instruction and bike hire if required.

Here's a good resource: https://www.drivingtests.co.nz/

Has free online 'sample' tests for car/bike/etc. So you can bash through a dozen or so of them too.
