My M50 is being delivered home from bike hospital today!!!!!
I won't be able to ride her for some time until my shoulder improves, but I will be able to go down to the garage and sit on her and make Brmmm Brmmm noises.
Photo to come.
And I can't compliment YOUI Insurance and Holeshot Suzuki enough for getting her back together.

Get well Steve
...know the feeling! (My bike is under a cover at the back of garage...she makes angry faces at me!)
Let me know how the shoulder comes along...got the same bloody issue here (AC joint shot!, cant ride anymore till the shoulder gets better...bloody arm keeps "turning off"...at all the wrong times!!)
Stay well! :D
"pulls cover off bike".....BRMMMM, BRMMMMMMM BRRRMMMMMM!!...its just not same

And because the bike shop couldn't supply the exact same top box that I had fitted to it, the insurance company had approved them fitting a GIVI Maxia E55 monokey topbox to replace the damaged one - it's HUGE!!!
Even able to take it off and use it as a suitcase. I'll have to go touring now that I have this top box fitted to the bike. Beware, there might be a blue Boulevard M50 pulling into a driveway near you.

Geez you two old broken down ex motorcyclists. Get well and better soonera than later and get back aboard and Onwards into infinity.
Steve, my wife rides a beautiful Grey 2011 M50 and has touring Oxford saddle bags, we've just done over 2300K's this last week around the North Island and enjoyed every minute of it.
Our driveay is your driveway, feel free to pm and arrange a time.
Willy, mateeeeeeeeeeeeee, that's really not good news. But don't let it stop you being involved! wink wink nudge nudge.

well, I've seen a copy of my MRI report and I'm damaged more than my bike was.
"full thickness tears of the supraspinatus, infraspinatus and subscapularis tendons of the rotator cuff, and subluxation (misplacement) of the long head of the biceps tendon"
I'm seeing the specialist next week and that probably means shoulder surgery. And months off riding my bike!!!
At least I'm still breathing, could have been worse.

On the road, no. Only had one crash, head on caused by the other driver.
On the race track, a good few times.

We agree on one thing then that the track is not as safe as the road. Some on here have said in the past though they feel safer riding on the track.
Idiot.
I was racing. During races sometimes you come off the track. This was in my race car.
Nothing to do with motorcycles.

Idiot yourself with this post you still confirm the track is more dangerous than the road.
Imagine Cassina racing his Africa twin on the road, then racing his Africa twin on the track. If Cassina was to crash, which is unlikely given his vast experience , extensive non, training and resistance to pressure to keep up,but it does, which environment would be safer to crash on? The one with the blind corners, cars coming the other way, lamp posts etc or the one with nothing to hit, shingle traps, etc? What's your answer sport?

It must be a real burden, being able to absorb information about things with which you have no experience through some kind of osmosis.

You are not bright enough to see that the reason why I said the track is more dangerous than the road is because the road is not a race track.
Sadly, the number of people who actually do use the road as a racetrack make a significant contribution to the fact that the road is far more dangerous than a racetrack.

Please stop spouting off about things of which you know nothing.
Yes, there may be more crashes on the track. Does that make the track more dangerous? Not necessarily.
Answer me this - what's the injury/death rate per crash on and off the track? I think you will find that the rate is much higher on the road.
Until you have actual data to the contrary you're just a pedant pushing a prejudice position with no basis in logic.

Anyone who uses the road as a race track? no sympathy given to what they may receive as a result of crashing. Sorry that it happened, but fuck. A race track on the other hand, is designed in all aspects to lessen any injury, if indeed something goes awry.

In Cassinaworld it must be handy to make up facts and correlations to suit whatever misguided point you are trying to make eh sport? How on earth would you have a clue what ratio of crashes I have had on track vs on road, if any?

How is the track more dangerous than the road. Barriers. Sand traps. Ambulance on stand by. A controller with a birds eye view and a radio. No traffic going the wrong way. A bunch of people who can actually fucking ride. Safety and tech inspections. No fucktards like you on the track. Safe.
Road? No so much. It's basically random.
I'm happier and safer doing 10/10ths on any of the 30 or so race tracks I've ridden around the world on a litre or 600, than any populated street or road in NZ.
You, ill-informed mentally challenged, poor excuse for a critical thinker, are deluded. Sin bin yet?

Steve has years of experience riding, and he can be a bit cranky on KiddieBiker. But he can ride, and he's fucking good value face to face with a beer in his hand.
Cassina, on the other hand - clearly has no real experience, and it's leading others into misinformed and dangerous territory. The fucktard should have to carry a warning that his views aren't representative of anyone with logic or reason. What does it take to actually ban a member on this site? Surely, the expert advice given by cassina should be enough to warrant an expulsion?

You seem to be having immense difficulty with what constitutes "dangerous". Let me explain it to you.
The Oxford dictionary defines dangerous to mean "able or likely to cause harm or injury". Since you are far more likely to be injured in a crash on the road the road is, by definition, more dangerous. The number of times you crash is largely irrelevant.

A world we're you make decisions based solely on what you think other people would do, rather than either experience it yourself, or actually think about what others say they would do and take that on board.
a world were other options don't exist because your mind is closed
i would rather be in the normal world, where not every option is the best one and depends on your own circumstances, ability and knowledge. Limiting your own view point limits your options.

If people read what is written and think about it they will realise that most of the rhetoric is limited and the source of info hasn't actually experienced what they are spouting "as gospel".
I would be be surprised if most bikers don't make their own decisions themselves rather than just believe everything written on KB as correct, it's the Internet.

Sadly some people see no other way of engaging with thier fellow man other than pretending to be someone/something, they are Not.
Internet TROLLS are a fact of life, I'd hesitate to name such a person as having an alter ego, in this instance because if I went with the generaql feeling i'd have to dramatically revise my opinion of somone I consider a freind and whom I beleive to be better than that.
Whoever this person/persons are, I feel let down that they can't simply come out and say whats on their mind. I do now,(Bass you bastard!) believe that cassina is not cassina but another KBér with a problem.

My M50 is being delivered home from bike hospital today!!!!!
And I can't compliment YOUI Insurance and Holeshot Suzuki enough for getting her back together.
Just had to lodge a claim with Youi.
Bike was parked in the Viaduct, in a space that literally takes two small cars ( the apartment dwellers cram two cars in all the time - if you know Market Place, you will know how long these parks are ).
Any who...... courier backs in to one of these parks, bike at the FAR end taking up zero room, and courier backs into it and knocks it over. No real damage except rear guard hit the wall it was parked in front of and cracked the fibre glass. about 1 K to replace.
Rang Youi - gave all the details - claim approved and excess wiped - all in one call - Too easy.
BTW> I badly twisted my ankle (not on the bike) - but could not ride. I remembered I could change my policy online - so I tried it - I changed to "Third Part fire & Theft" for the two + months for the ankle to come right. The day I decided to go for a ride - changed it back to full cover, small fee ($2.33 or something) to update the cover from midnight the previous day, and all covered. Saved about two thirds on my premiums for the two months I couldn't ride - A great service!
