I've got an SV650S that I've had since 2008. I've used it for a mixture of weekend rides, track days and commuting. I can't afford to do regular track days any more and think I'd be happier (more comfortable) on the road with a standard naked sv with higher handlebars. My bike is fairly high milage and has a couple of scrapes on the fairings and muffler from low sides on the track, so I don't reckon I'd get much for it if I sell it. But I thought I'd see if anyone with a similar value naked sv650 might want to swap for a slightly sportier bike. When I was doing track days, I added crash bungs and upgraded the suspension with Racetech emulators in the front and stiffer 0.90kg/mm springs, a zx636 rear shock and shorter dog bones in the back (I still have the original front springs, rear shock and dogbones). When I bought it it already had the Two Brothers full exhaust system and a K&N air filter.
It likes a bit of choke to start but it runs good. I don't think it uses oil. I checked the valve clearances at 61,167km and they pretty much hadn't changed since I set them at 43,953km (one of the feeler gauges was a bit tighter than when I set them but still fit through). The compression also at 61,167km according to my gauge was 170psi rear and 190psi front which is within limits (minimum is 156psi with less than 28psi difference between cylinders).
It's just had an oil change. The other fluids should probably be changed soon too...
LH front disc is at 4.07mm thick, RH at 4.14mm (minimum thickness 4mm).
Rear disc is at 4.56mm (minimum thickness 4.5mm).
Front tyre has 3mm minimum tread, rear has 4mm.
WOF till 15/6/2017
Rego till 14/3/2017
The km will keep going up as I use it.
