Weather looks good ride the Thursday night ride tonight on the new wheels

The tow company called in to pick up the old 109 this morning....... With only std car strops and wanted me to ride it on the truck

Told him to F/off and let someone who has the gear and skills to pick it up.... The tow company sending someone who has never carted a bike before is only going to end up going wrong (the 109 is a good bike still to be trashed by the towie.....just to many scratched $$ bits to be a economical to repair)

I have test-ridden a Rocket and I wish you well. IMO it is great platform for touring.

I rode my turbo'd Vrod alongside a Rocket from Phoenix to Pahrump last weekend and he and I swapped on the ride back; and both of us were happy both times.

Just an update for those who are interested. I've had the Rocket Touring for a year now.

Done two trainings with Passmasters - a Track day at Pukekohe & the Silver Ride Forever Course.

Fitted a Ramair intake (already had aftermarket Jardine exhaust fitted) and got her re-mapped, now allegedly putting out 147.5 HP & 237.5 nm torque.

Fuel economy is great, can get over 400 km's from a tank. Added over 10,000 km's so far.

Have fitted a Michelin Scorcher 32 rear (Harley Branded tyre meant for the Fat Bobs), what a great tyre, absolute confidence wet & dry.

Other upgrades;
- relay fitted for radar detector, heated grips & phone charger (previous owner had them all runing straight off the battery)
- air horn
- genuine Triumph Highway Pegs
- LED auxiliary lights
- LED headlight
- YSS progressive adjustable rear shocks (fitted but not yet road tested)

Upgrades to come;
- Progressive springs for the front
- T-Bars (I've tried, but still don't like the turn in on these factory bars)

The only reason I see me getting rid of this bike would to upgrade to one with ABS.
