Me, I like to hear what's going on with the bike. So no music for me while riding.

Nah. Family has decreed that I am not allowed to sing at home, so I sing on the bike-nobody can hear my Godawful voice inside my helmet

Yeah I do that too. It's amazing the high quality of voice that I achieve. Thank god I can't hear it either but it seems good at the time. Cheers John.

Me too! It really makes me wonder why others tell me to shut up-maybe its something to do with the acoustics of a helmet enhancing one's voice and ability to sing in tune.

I listen to my iPod on the boring bits like the motorway and heading to Puke etc, but once I'm on the stretch of road I want to have some fun on, then it comes off.. It's only to keep me active on the long boring rides really.. I can't concentrate enough with it on and can't hear the bike in the good stuff

Right on there yungatart. On a frosty night my bike tunes in and humms along with me. I can tell the bike likes it. Maybe we could have been NZ idols in anther world? Yeah right.

I'd agree with that, hence why I'm reluctant to use my ipod on the bike.

I thought that, but I find myself looking at the speedo more, cos I can't hear the bike.. so I end up riding slower. Or I'm just riding with the traffic anyway, so little chance of going much faster. When I haven't got the iPod on, I can hear the engine and wind noise and judge stuff better without looking at the speedo. Besides, I never speed..

Only to those who appreciate real talent tho. Sadly, I think I am the only destined to hear that great talent -yeah right!

Yeah I put my MP3 player on but only when Im going for a decent distance otherwise not worth the effort, although I am looking at a new helmet set with an adapter for the MP3, should allow much better sound and reduce wind noise even when not on.

The sound of my bike's engine, the tyres on the road and the wind rushing past my helmet are a total symphany of music. Why would I want anything else?

And today my ears were destroyed by 'oh fuck the exhaust tip has broken off'.
Had trouble hearing mum at the dinner table tonight.. hope it ain't permanent.
I have tried listening to music before, just makes me psych up and loose concentration usually. Trying to do stuff in time with the music ain't so good.

yep, I haven't tried music, but I know for sure, it would screw me up. Get into a really good mood, and the next sec I'd be having a lunch of gravel or be at a disco. Even on my bike.
If I had a bigger bike, then it would be plain lethal... 100% focus on the road at all time thanks :niceone:
