Anyone else think this shit is getting out of control?
Working day in day out I must say there is no place worse than in the Auckland CBD. Just today as I was turning right off Queen St, a good 3 seconds after my light turns green this CityLink bus is not even halfway through the intersection. I give the driver a gentle sound of the horn and the thick c*** even had the audacity to give me the finger.
These bus drivers seem to think that they have some god given right to bend the laws in their favour just because they are providing a service to the public.

Get the details, bus number, plate, time and location etc and ring the company.
I had one bus that stopped, then before the light turned green (like half way through the intersection before it turned green) he was off... reported to the company. Company doesn't want that sort of thing going on (coz the bus is so well signed up), so giving all the details makes it easy for them to follow up.

Nothing new mate. Bus drivers have always been cunts.

Years ago they put these signs on the back of the buses "please let me go first". Soon after that the bastards would pull out without warning forced me onto other side of road once.

Look - the drivers are on minimum wage.
On minimum wage.
And spend all day carrying around some questionable, often smelly people.
On minimum wage.
And no other road user gives a fuck about them.
On minimum wage.
An occasional red light run is a given.
I'm surprised the buggers don't flip while on the job and go nuts in traffic.
Just saying.
Did you do everything perfectly at work today?

twice i've written down the wrong measurements, or added instead of subtracting. it's only cost maybe 15 minutes, and no biggie. but it fucks me off. too much drugs maybe. (or not enough :doobey:  )
asides from that. yeah. i'm functionally perfect. but i don't drive a bus and/or live/be in aucklandshitholefuckenstupidcunttown.
and any cunt that's dumb enough to moan about where or how they live (by their own fucken free will and choice) deserves nothing but derision and shunning.
like cunts that moan about the weather. should just be shot. you cant/wont do anything about it, so STFU. humanity doesn't need your whining ass.

When I was a baby truck driver it was nearer to the end of the last millennium when the heat started coming down on red lights and stop signs. Until the late 90's it was prison rules in the hours of darkness in crappy places like Hamilton with its shitty light timings. Then the word came down from the top that if anyone was caught that would be it.....
Glad im outa that game now, shit you'd fell like the captain of an oil tanker off the coast of Mogadishu stopping at hammy town traffic lights these days... Wont be long before we see truck jackings for food.....

None of that 'sustained loss of traction' shit back then. Do a burn out and the punter watching cheered you on. Shit I remember a mate being pulled over for lighting up the rear and the cop telling him it was lame and peeling out a beauty in his Holden after he gave us a warning. Good times.
Fucking buss drivers got paid OK back them too.

We had 4 patrol bikes per shift in the central city. It was fun. K Rd and Queen St was my favourite before they re engineered it. Upper Queen St red lights were dime a dozen. Fine was $40 back then. Dished em out like confetti.

Yeah and I got a ticket (traffic cops everywhere ) for popping up the front wheel on my red 1973 TS 125 on take off at lights in Queen st, (it was hard on the clutch though)in 1973. I left the North Island in 1976 never to return.

The general motoring public irritate me enough without my entire job being spent on the road amongst them. Then factor in the number of times they have to move off from the roadside. If I haven't started passing them and they indicate, I'll do my best to give them room (flash of headlights etc).
After all, they're probably going to pull over shortly anyway and you can continue on.

After a couple of months driving in Germany I have to say NZ red light runners are amateurs by comparison. Get 3 buses running that red in a row and you'll have something to whinge about

Minor thing but... There is a set of lights between my place and the local supermarket, more often than not I have to wait for some arsehole who is running a red before I can move. Even a modest amount of enforcement would work wonders.
Of course if it actually came to pass that someone did get off their shiny arse and do something, the AA would issue a statement saying they believe in education not fines.

I was told by a bus driver that the reason he chose it as a job was because it was one of the few jobs that paid $20 an hour where you needed no qualifications/experience.

I'm not sure what NZ cops actually do all day. It sure isn't basic policing. I'd love to put a cuntasstable on the back of my scoot and point out all the fucktards sitting and texting while they drive. Or the red light runners. Or all the cars with one headlight.
In Sydney, we have cops riding around on unmarked bikes during rush hour, pulling all the texters and phone users. Can't wait to get back there in two months. $200 for a years rego, and bikes are a valid and encouraged form of transport.

1000 more? How many police officers are there now? 1000 more would be a significant increase...
I can provide a good solution for paying for the 1000 new police. Stop providing free healthcare to new immigrants. I've been spending a lot of time in hospitals in Auckland (the reason I'm here in NZ), and I do a poll each day I'm sitting in Greenlane or Auckland hospitals for the proportion of Kiwis versus immigrants. Most days, it's about 5% Kiwi's. Seriously.
I'm all for free healthcare, but when Kiwis can't get in front of a doctor because all the people from overseas are choking the resource... And they're demanding, rude, pushy motherfuckers.
Call me a racist. Then come to hospital and see.

The salient part of my statement should have been noted as "NEW immigrants". You'd be less impressed if you saw what I have the last six months. And yes, a good proportion of the hospital staff are immigrants - ironically proving my belief that we should only be allowing skilled migrants into NZ. I also know three migrants in the skilled migrant category who are a cleaner, a tailor, and one who serves ice cream.
A few weeks ago, a kiwi nurse was sitting next to my adoptive father monitoring the cocktail of radioactive nastiness being pumped into him - he had a heap of heart surgery, so it's mandatory he is closely monitored. Chinese woman comes in and badgers the lovely nurse because she's been waiting too long, and what kind of service is this. She gets told to wait, and someone will be with her shortly. She objects and starts yelling, at which point I start getting into it with the cunt. After security turns up, the nurse explains that wasn't exceptional nowadays. I've seen six months of this shit. The hospital staff are under tremendous pressure and how they cope is beyond me.

Perth is kind of an odd place - when you're on a bike, people tailgate you like you're riding 20 under the limit, so when you pull across to let them aside, they hold the same speed you were previously doing... I rode a mate's GSXR600 on the GC a while ago, got stopped three times in less than an hour - was doing the speed limit, totally legal with rego and insurance - apparently that's a QLD welcoming committee...

Phlegm is one of those words that sounds just as odd as it reads. Standing at Auckland Airport some years ago now, and an Asian guy called a up decent amount of phlegm and then lobbed into the ashtray part of the rubbish, better than on the ground I guess but I looked in his direction and said ''You Dirty Cunt''...thankfully I don't think he understood me other wise he may have Kung Fu'd my arse.
Thank you for so gracefully correcting my spelling... I love the word phlegmatic. It makes me think of stoic, which is another word I love.
10 points for actually saying those poetic words to his face. Likely, he didn't know Kung Fu. Most fighters are very calm and have respect, the dirty spitty foul mouthed ones usually don't.

hilariously, the wording on the notice (and ergo probably in legislation) is ...~"failed to stop when compelled to by a red disc"\
Just for a change, you're wrong.
The wording is "Failed To Comply With A Red Traffic Signal".
And for completeness, here's an excerpt from the Land Transport (Road User) Rule.
(5)
While a steady red signal in the form of a disc is displayed or 2 alternately flashing red signals in the form of a disc are displayed,—
(a)
a driver of a vehicle facing the signal or signals must not enter the controlled area, but a cyclist may enter ahead of a marked vehicle limit line and stop behind a marked cycle limit line:
(b)
pedestrians, riders of mobility devices, and riders of wheeled recreational devices facing the signal or signals must not enter the roadway unless a special signal for pedestrians indicates a green walking human figure symbol
I guess you qualify under Para. b, as a rider of a wheeled recreational device.
