The UK’s “most comprehensive and up-to-date checking service for motorcycles” is being launched. Information solutions company Experian has teamed up with the Motor Cycle Industry Association (MCIA) to create the UK’s first data check designed specifically to help retailers protect their customers from motorcycle fraud.
.
Nick Brown, MCIA’s Director of Research and Statistics, said: “MCIA is committed to providing the most accurate and up-to-date information that is available. Exchanging data with Experian can help us to achieve this, whilst helping riders to protect themselves when buying second hand bikes. This should give customers piece of mind and help to keep the second hand market buoyant.”

The enhanced check will include the make and model details, body style, taxation class and date of registration as well as identify whether it has been stolen, still has outstanding finance, is registered as a write-off or has changed owners.
