Come on drivers! These speeds lead to crashes which means injury and death. You don't want to be that person and you don't want us turning up at your family home with that sort of bad news. Drive slower, please."
Yeah, right! Did any of the drivers they caught actually crash? I think not or the idiots would be crowing from the rooftops about it.

It takes less than 5 seconds to go from 100 to 200kph so that's not even trying.

0-200 in less than 8sec.
What a time to be alive!
I want one just to own something that cool. I'd never get it out of second gear mind you....

Well he is reportedly a "professional" so if he has finished paying off his student loan he could maybe afford an Audi or a Beemer. In which case he was only dawdling.

Over 103kph, did he burst into flames...
I did 240kmh north bound down the Bombay hills on my RZ500. Fully tapped, it didn't have another single kmh to give.

He should have tried to max it along SH38 off the Rotorua-Taupo highway to Murapara. 7 km straight part way down, big wide fire breaks and almost zero traffic :innocent:

All I can say is, live in Canterbury....7km straight is short, (laughs evil laugh....)
Before I bought my Manx, way back....I took it for a run on the South Eyre. Saw 6900 in top. It wasn't till after i'd bought it I realised it came with IOM gearing.
So that was somewhere round 140mph.
Tested a few racebikes quicker than that since then...

Hahaha! SH38 from Rainbow Mountain to Murapara is 38 km long and has no bends of consequence. The 7 km straight at the eastern end just means that you can get on with the job of maxing out nicely tucked in (so I was told a long time ago)

I used to max out my RG50 Every day on the way to work, surrounded by other traffic on urban motorway. That's how hardcore I am. Bit like Ghost rider.
But back then they didn't have 4kph over the limit blitzs so I was safe from getting pulled for it. Wouldn't make 8k over genuine. Would read 118 but you'd have to assume the position (under the paintwork),

With rope and gag in the back? No of course not...
As a reformed Hamilton boyracer (and we were racers too, not like the wankers that go out causing trouble) I couldn't count the times I was in a car exceeding that speed late at night. Difference being is we were intelligent enough to pick the places we did it, out of the way of any innocents and most of all Police.

I once maxed out my SR400 on the motorway (not really but it felt like it) 105kph because I had a large truck investigating my colon from very close.

A senior police officer who clocked a motorcyclist at 218km/h says it is one of the fastest speeds he has recorded.
Former competitive motorcycle racer ************** was riding his Kawasaki ZX 1200cc motorcycle on the Napier-Taupo road when he sped past police conducting speed checks about datexxxxxx.
next...
In 2011, Hastings XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX , was clocked at 202km/h in his Holden Commodore. He was fined $1250, ordered to pay court costs of $132 and disqualified from driving for eight months.
Damnit the news has been orwellised again... Uncle Google wont give me the original story of 18y/o driver here who was clocked at 185k going oppositie way to stationaery police car who then turned chased and CAUGHT up to him and arrested after 8min pursuit.....
Yep high speeds happen all the time, just media and cops aren't there often enough to document it so joe blow public thinks its rare.... Yes it is dangerous/risky but by no means breaking news....

Hhhhmmmmmmm "While the officer was speaking with the driver his radar locked onto another car travelling in the opposite direction at a speed of 184kmh."
Theres some legal impicatiosn for the court case right there... integrity of evidence... how the hell is the radar still in search mode for other traffic while original offender being dealt with and I assume the cops car parked very close to the offenders car giving all sorts of reflections.....

Hahaha - Murapara is one place that I'm uneasy about stopping in, even just for gas!
I use that area of the Hunuas quite regularly for IAM mentoring. It's interesting how often the Highway Patrol are out that way. Fertile hunting ground, I'd imagine :-)

Not much wrong with the towns, apart from lack of work etc
its the Resident Evils, is that my Harley your riding sonny?
Can't be, cos its not a Harley.
Did I forget to mention Wairoa?
a real lack of work available.
Its a pity because you can see that previously the towns have been prosperous.

Wairoa is pretty scary. Almost had the RF chained to the door of the motel. POS that it was i didn't want to walk.
Cannons isn't as bad as it was. Not that I stop there often.

There used to be a big fellah at the challenge in Murapara that was always friendly, liked to chat about bikes. He may still be there. I've had some "fuckoff" looks from some of the other locals though, same in Wairoa on occasion, and I've always been happy to oblige

Didnt stay in Wairoa, the main bakery is different and the food nice, ate it away from the locals down by the river mouth.
It must have been the local welcoming committee I met. One guy asked me if it was a Harley, another one went off his nut the closer to the bike he got, autistic type of breakdown (and yes I know what they look like) I got out of there ASAP. At least the toilets worked. Maybe it was the drug drop off/pickup day.:Offtopic: There certainly could have been some speed there.

I wonder what happens when you get to the end of the street, have you ran out of lucknow?

I think you're thinking of Paparimu Rd? Two straights with a kink. Probably been the odd one caught, but there are a few driveways and houses along the stretch.
Sometimes there is a difference between a cop catching you at a speed and what is written on the ticket. Knowing someone who was radar'd close to 300, the cop was a little shocked and since the licence was going one way or another, it was written <140. Don't think court or police really want the high speeds out there as it looks bad for the policing of the limit (I mean, 200kph is fast and the average person thinks baby seals are being clubbed, but 300kph and now the limit is being mocked as a mere irrelevant number)

I looked up Skyhigh on te map and lolled when I saw it's the back of Monument Road. Land Speed Record attempts on Monument Road (the Clevedon one) should be compulsory.

In the multicultural community in Sth Akl I grew up in, everyone gave each other respect.
I am unlike anyone else
They ran out of places in Wairoa, so some of them made it to akl.
Definitely more crims in Akl, there a lot of them - accountants, lawyers etc for a start.
Have you been to the Dentist lately?
I am all for capital punishment - its only making sure you get the right person.
