Lower Hutt's shane Richardson will be the first Kiwi to ride at Daytona for a while, the race is at 6am sunday 19th of march our time, i'm getting quite keen on this so lets keep an eye on the team. He's over there with Seth Deveraux.
anyone know how long the race takes?

Isn't he from Wainui? Surely the extra toes make the distinction worthy of mention?

i see a 47 year old won in last year and a 66 year old rode in it too, wonder if they have a height limit my little grey haired friend, then it might be on your bucket list eh?

He is a talented wee bastard so I hope he goes well. I have known his father and grandfather for years, the whole family is bike crazy, and are good people too!

Worth following his facebook page Richardson Racing https://www.facebook.com/RichardsonRacing28/?hc_ref=SEARCH&fref=nf
They are doing regular video updates. Buggered if I know how Seth can film and edit videos while rebuilding and fettling a race bike!

Good on him and good luck.
Hopefully they actually put it on TV live like they used to do a few years ago.

and another two laps later, shane got the most airtime in the first hour, legendary effort in such a gruelling race, proud to call him and seth deveraux mates, they did the hard yards and got noticed over there so despite a dnf was still a stellar effort

Not a good sign with the old dudes running ? I had a look at the entries but I don't follow AMA so I didn't recognise any names apart from the Wainui lad.
Good on him for giving it a crack tho. (got your link too late to have a look tho, bugger!).

Eslick knows how to celebrate - a rolling burn out the entire length of pit lane :niceone:

Shame the gearbox broke. From the looks of the pics it's a bit of a weird one.

So the Daytona 200 is a 600 race nowdays?

I had heard American racing was struggling but when did this change ?

it's nothing to do with that, there aren't any tyres that stay together on the big bikes so they've reduced it to 600's

It has been 600's for quite a few years.
