What do you think of the new Bobber?
I seen one 2 weeks ago its a nice looking bike but the cons it looks too small.

I sat on the shop one and I am too big. The gear change was so short that I would not be able to get my foot under it to change gear.
Seat was adjusted back also when I sat on it.
Needs a 5 foot 6 guy or gal.

A bit cramped and not good for my back.
More ornamental than practical

What's all this land of the giants bullshit? I sat on it and it was perfect. Cooler looking in the flesh than in pictures too.

There is so much to like about this bike - the sweet engine, great look. I'm a short arse so the size of the bike is great for me.
But for me it's too expensive. To spend that much on a single seat bike with comparatively low utility....I couldn't do it. I have no doubt it will sell well though.

rode up SH16 on sunday, with a mate who was on one, he'd be 6'1" easy, he seemed to think it was awesome, and blitzed past my sports bike and left me for dead. Damn fine looking machine.

Most mates will stop when you break down unless they ride a brakeless bobber.
I had a sit on it and it felt brill. The handlebars looked really cool and seemed perfectly placed. A bit pricey though and the peanut tank will limit it's appeal to those that actually ride a lot.
Looks alone will sell plenty.

They are reviewing very well.
Having said that what new bike doesn't now days .......
Anyway, I'll pop into my local Triumph dealer and have a look.
What's this seat height wank with the tall guys? A Harley has fuck all seat height - it's just the stupid apes and forward controls that give 'room'. In fact I am sure I've seen a Bobber with a factory ape kit in the press-release.

Fuck bike reviews. They fly these "journalists" over the Spain and put them up for a few days in a hotel, let them ride the bikes around for a couple of days. In exchange these jokers write some glowing reviews. Ever seen a negative bike review from a pro journalist? Or even a review that's remotely critical beyond one or two extremely superficial points?
Even worse, 3 years later the next model year comes out, they say "oh they fixed ALL the things we didn't like!!", pretending to ever be critical of the bike in the first place.

I sat on it with the thought should I drop sports bikes now or in a few years. It was small even with the seat extended back. I would ride it but would not own it due to the size. Make a bigger version and I could start thinking about it.

Sums it up. One bad article from a Journalist and he might as well apply for a job with Womens Weekly.
....Confessions of a Bike Journo.... is a book I might want to read. Maybe one will written.

Actually you make a good point above - they do exactly that!

I would tell lies if I could ride expensive bikes on tracks with total disregard. Maybe I get some monies and other perks for my failure to recollect a few bike faults.

Yup correct I was told by the dealer that they have an optional model with an ape kit. Haven't seen one yet but id imagine it will look magnificent and would look more roomy

Local dealer has sold both of theirs - one was in the window yesterday.
Nice looking kit with a tidy finish.
The seat - bar distance does look fairly short.
Looks like $21k on road.

confirm. it is the T120 powertrain and same price acording to Stefan.
They are trying hard to sell me that Street Scrambler. But its $18.5k on the road and the base Street Twin is $16k

Wasn't even *that* negative but it caused ructions. When BIKE first got to ride the 1098 Ducati, it was at a track in Italy, they raved.
When next they got to ride it again in Europe on Alpine passes or whatever, they raved again.
Then they got it in England and reality intruded, they made some negative comments about comfort and riding in traffic and Ducati went hostile and threatened to pull their advertising. What is a sweet ride around Mugello or wherever could be a literal pain in the arse in an urban environment or on Brit B roads.
BIKE were also unkind about the comfort of the MV Brutale some years ago.
The bike that received the cruelest comments that I can recall was the FZ6. Continual arguments among the testers, none of whom even wanted to ride the bloody thing.
There was a comment along the lines, "We didn't think anybody actually made bad bikes anymore but.."
BIKE will probably still do an honest test - to an extent.

Hmmm - $2500 will upgrade the suspension on the Street Twin ........

Yes! When they first came out they offered a "scrambler kit" for the Street Twin and I got kind of excited: until they told me the price was $20k. The value proposition just wasn't there.

Love the look, and looking forward to riding one
Apparently goes much better than the 900 America (my last Triumph)
More torque, more BhP

No disrespect but that old America ...... poor effort, it always reminded me of a 80's Japanese factory custom.
New Bobber - fine job Triumph.
