Site went down with a 404 error a few days ago and now appears to be completely gone.

Does anyone know what's going on there?

Down for me too. Guessing they just forgot to pay the website hosting bill or something.

I just called them, apparently they've been the victim of a cyber attack.

Maybe someone ordered something that was actually in stock and the site couldn't cope....

Bloody funny. It's probably easier to use at the moment.

A few days back both Techmoto - www.techmoto.co.nz - and Cycletreads were down, displaying the same issue.

I know the guys at Techmoto said they were having issues with their site host.

Can only assume Cycletreads use the same host and were/are having the same issues.

I had thought most of the bike shops used the same system so they can drop ship from the wholesalers.

Site seems to be back up, or at least partly so. Based on another thread from last week I was a little weary when I went in on Saturday but downstairs seems to be much the same. The workshop was busy, and lots of people kicking tyres with the Yamaha bikes. Didn't venture upstairs though

The site is up and running again.

They are short of staff, so that can cause delays when attempting to contact them.

Top Tip: NEVER use the "contact us" area of their website... Always phone them!

Pro tip. Don't bother phoning unless you know exactly what you want in what size.
Going in seems to be the only way to get any more useful info than availability... which may still be wrong.

So their website is a waste of everyone's time.

Yep. Since 2006...

It's probably sensible to doubt any website's info until product stocked is confirmed by staff.

Really ?
I went in last time I was in Aucktown wanting a pair of decent gloves. I had a long browse and fingered a couple of pairs before a sales person arrived. The conversation went like this....
Her- how can I help ?
Me - I'm after some gloves.
Her - looks like your in the right place.

Then she wandered off. I wandered off too...out the door. I probably won't darken their doorway again

Buying stuff off the Cycletreads website: sweet Jesus never again.

Place order for some jets for the FCR41's, wait... wait some more... two months down the track I get a phone call.

"Sorry, did you still want these?"

Excuse me?

Not impressed, and once was enough.

the great thing is that we as consumers dont have to put up with that shit anymore. Oh, ebay: click click, click: shits on your doorstep in a week (provided fucking Courierpost dont get involved). Or Amazon, or book depository or any one of a million other places.

Shit service? Yeah. I'll spend my money somewhere else.

I've always found them helpful when I go in there, Sunday is fairly quiet & service has always been good.
The website is a different story however.

My favourite conversation there a few years ago*
Me: can you tell me of they do these in a larger size?
CT: we don't stock that brand.
Me: but I got it off that stand.
CT: huh. Goes back to whatever she was doing on the computer.

* Not verbatim but you get the idea.

I tried again with the other girl that was working there and found out that no, the manufacturer makes up to 7xl but the importers only bring in up to 5xl and only have up to 3xl in stock.
