Hi guys

New here, started riding in Wellington this year and after some advice.

I got a parking ticket for parking on yellow striped box for all of 10 mins at Kelburn Uni, wasn't a NP sign there so didn't even think about it. Didn't think wardens minded if your bike was out of the way/not harming anyone (bike park was full). Ticket wasn't attached to bike either got it in the post. Likely I'll have to pay but will give contesting it a good shot!

Where do you park for those 10 mins? So much reserved parking around, and bike parks are often full, not close. I try look for areas where a car wouldn't park and my bike wouldn't be in the way. General parking advice much appreciated. Cheers

Top Tip: Carry a spraycan of black paint with you for those times.

I look for places which are "sensible", not impeding pedestrians and hopefully out of the way.
Occasionally a lap around the block will produce a better spot.

If its parking at Vic Uni you want there are dedicated motorcycle parks on campus. My wife uses the staff ones but there are student ones as well. I am not aware of the need to display a permit to use these but having a staff or student ID might be the difference if challenged.
Of course you are probably neither and just looking to freeload on the good people of Victoria University for 10 minutes, shame on you, you filthy biker type person!
