I had ride bikes for like 5 years when i was in Uni but that was 6 years ago (<200cc bikes),

I had tried calling various bike instructors but all seems to be busy for the next 2 weeks or so (thats a long time

Any advice as i have to pickup the bike like before Friday

It'll all come back to you very quickly if you have done a fair bit of riding in the past. I understand the ninja 300 should be pretty learner friendly.

Just an idea, you could ask the dealer to deliver it so you can have a pootle around somewhere familiar before taking it on the motorway or whatever. Not sure if dealers do that these days.

Go and ride it home - just be careful opening the throttle - don't do it too hard ..

Have you tried Riderskills at Massey? http://www.riderskills.co.nz/default.asp?pageref=backtobiking&rightbar=ReadyForSummer . Philip is outstanding.

I brought a bike recently, after a break of 3 years without a bike. (KTM 390) It was surprising how all the old skills were still there.
I would tend to say just go and pickup the bike yourself, and keep the revs down in order to keep yourself out of trouble as a precaution.

yup will going to have a short bike ride tomorrow with safelearner http://i.imgur.com/DnwqlmG.gif

2 electrical guys quoted me $200 to install the bike alarm whereas it costed me NZ $107/ from Ebay  (SPY 5000M LCD motorcycle alarm system two way remote start & proximity sensor), will be also putting in GPS tracker, Chinese stuff with good reviews (better than none)
