looks good, a good tenere replacement, wouldnt wanna take it on anything too rough though but be a nice road cycle :P gotta be cheaper than the new africa twin too

I dont understand why adventure bike makers like limiting their market to just very tall riders unlike the old late 70s early 80s XTs and XLs that had much lower seats.

Ducati are having a stab. The Desert Sled (https://scramblerducati.com/en/bike/desert-sled), not quite for short arses but better.

I've been following the T7 since the prototype was shown. Some Italian journalists got a hold of it and had a play in a quarry. It looks very dirt capable. Probably more so than the AT and KTM.

When it finally comes out the big issue will be weight, if it's not significantly under cutting the litre+ bikes, Yamaha will struggle IMHO. C of G will be another bone of contention, appealing though the motor is, it's top heavy compared to the bigger competition.

Having said all that I'm gagging for the release. The T7 production bike is top of my list to replace the venerable TDM. Or sit along side depending on whether the shed grows or not.

We shall see.

Oh, I really like the look of that Duc, Yamaha should do a new "retro" XT 500.:niceone:

Hopefully, just like the XTZ660/1200 of recent times, it'll be a nice, handy size and won't require any/many ergo-adjustments to be ride-able.
Keeping an eye out for the test-ride opportunity.
But, yeah, a cross between the late, and very much lamented, TDM and the current DR - Yamaha, ball-park, hit out of...
