Hi!
Are there any another learners in Auckland except me? :-)
What about doing some kind of learner's ride, like guys from Welli do?
Actually I don't know Auckland well, so what can anyone suggest?

When the weather fines up a bit......
and if you are free during the day.... gis a buzz....
I can take you around the streets a bit.... show you the ropes...
plus a bit out in the country..... and a bit of motorway riding.
But the more you practise the better you will get at riding.
Others will want to show you the ropes as well...

You usually have to purchase ropes seperately.

:killingme Having seen you on the 250, uh-huh... slow... It would be all I could do to keep sight of you when you rolled on the throttle "gently". Seriously, as you know, even gentle roll-on 2fiddy's can't keep up.
yep, I'm up for a learner ride on the weekend... I even have an L plate for entry into the ride...
Naturally this ride would not be exceeding 70 would it?

Hamilton to Auckland is 1-1.25 hours. :killingme After all, you, a very recently restricted rider and me a learner, could have no idea of the top speed of our bikes. Nor which might be faster

Hmm I'd be keen to go for a nice cruise around, drool over the purple fairy bike (you bastard...) and meet up with you gremlin. Might even ahh... test my tyres friction rating in a carpark too if it's wet...
021 264 6335 if you want to text me, I'll be in gym till approx 9:40 (short session on sundays) at pakuranga (tell me where to meet up if this is organised in the small hours of the morning)

I thought it was around 1 hour fifteen minutes from the home we visited to the home I live in.

Joking - sticking to 70 is an invitation to be banged in the back by a car.

You speak a lot of being in the gym - do you work there part time or do you train?? If so what sort of training do you??

Obviously you live a little closer then. Traffic lights do slow you down (certainly relative to previous err... limits). That ride was very funny tho
Can't do a ride tomorrow, have a group meeting at uni at midday. Next Saturday is AMPS, although morning is free. Sunday is Pink Ribbon Charity Ride...

Not even close  But if you stick an L on, you're in.
Nah, we know that you "are still getting used to the bike 6 months on". 'Cept you won't overtake Gareth so easily this time.

I have done sport all my life, stopped it after 7th form so decided to goto gym... best sport there is because you always win and wear the results!

JustSomeGuy has a L plate.
He uses it to cover his number plate as he's speeding down the wrong side of the road. :devil2:

Not anymore, He's a medium sized boy now.
Except that if you have seen his plate recently, it probably couldn't be read anyhoo. He said he was trying to get it off recently (I think, and I wouldn't know why either), the bolt wouldn't let go...
and he got a little annoyed at it... :apumpin:
end result? Held on by wire, and not the straightest around...

I always carry a length of rope. Never know when it will come in handy. I could show it to you if you want, not very interesting though.

:doobey: I know... I was fishing... :bleh: I got myself a big one.
Well doesn't that count???
yep, but is it a necessary skill for a proper learner?? You already know, unless a ride is stated as fast, then everyone is welcome. Look at PF's huuuuge ride.
there are probably more learners in akl than you think,
Liiiike.... you??
yep, when I did that survey of people who went on PF's big ride, 16 L without L, 4 L with L...

Since when has one wheel antics NOT been a necessary skill?????
Have I been lied to my whole life??

I'll be keen, showing the ropes thing, does it mean you tie all the bikes together and the guy at the front sets the pace? Dunno if that's my thing - I dunno how to tie ropes!

meh... taking off quickly is hard on the ZZR, it ain't the fastest, but as you have found, enough power, and you don't have to even try, so I'll wait...
Pity about the R6... you a mind reader, or was it that predictable... :crybaby:

 perhaps not being able to tie ropes would be good in this case... unless I have my camera of course, first corner I reckon... :sweatdrop
