Lucky you posted a picture...the one I was forming in my head looked a little different :innocent::shutup:

The alternative to the tool tube pictured is made up using drain pipe PVC, with a screw on top. Bit of faffing around though, we used to use 4" version of such on trucks as glove holder.

I was kinda not wanting to have to make one. Lazy and all.

Ebay that shit man - the Chinese would have ripped off a decent design by now and made it out of recycled vibrators and coke bottles.

I had a similar thing on my trail bike when I lived in Scotland for my fly rods. Bit longer than a tool tube but a great accessory. 5ft of pipe held onto the frame with jubilee clips. Worked a treat.

Much to my amazement it could carry quite a few cans of beer if I wasn't fishing.

Yeh, thanks.

I was thinking of various sized tool toobs. Like for instance the army-surplus canister thing that I keep my welding rods in. Or drain/water pipe sections with press fit caps. Or soft rolls. Or ... well, it depends on the size of yer thingy.

And how hard it is.

I have a procycle one that is surplus to requirements. Fits DR650, very sturdy and would prob easy adapt to other bikes

if any of them did make one, they'd be king of the dual sports hands down, but because they havent it must be impossibru... (probably because of emissions? xr650R with an electric start???)

Hi, sorry, not from NZ but I got the Mega Tube plus tool roll and locking kit from overseas online.... www.thetooltube.com/MegaTube.html (http://www.thetooltube.com/MegaTube.html)
If you do a lot of rough terrain or just a lot of corrugation you will need to add extra support such as a large metal hose clamp to stop the plastic mounts fatiguing to oblivion. Saw one come apart on a Dusty Butt ride many years ago.
