View Full Version : Re-jetting vs Not when changing exhaust tip on 250cc

Hey KB's quick question, I have been chopping up a gn250 to learn about bikes (I know it is a tractor, settle down!). I have come across an exhaust tip, stainless steel cut off one that should just slip onto the exhaust pipe once the old tip has been removed.
Now my question is, will this fluff up the back pressure etc forcing me to do a rejet of the carb or will it be ok?

I am just not that keen on trial and error, summer is coming up and any bike is good in summer!

Cheers yo!

Meh put it on a do a plug check to see hows it's running. It's a GN - plenty running around with rusted out pipes and I bet nothings been altered in the carb.

+1, do it and have a look at the plug. If things really turn to custard it's always possible to get another stock exhaust system, doesn't have to be new. Plenty of GN's around.

. . . Plenty of GN's around.

Indeed. And the more you can get through the better.

My Triumph sounded like it was only running on 3. I did a plug check and found it was missing 1,

and a cylinder too!:eek5:
