Busted fork seals on an old trials bike.

The bike I'm doing up is a 1972 250cc Ossa MAR. After recently getting all the cablework redone me and the old man tested the front suspension, low and behold the fork seals had degraded. I understand redoing the seals is pretty challenging, not only technically but also finding the right sized seals. If anyone has any advice/tips or knows what size seals I'd need or where to get them that'd be great.

I've posted on here a few times for advice on fixing up my old mans bike and so far you guys have been a great help.

Odds of getting OEM are pretty low I'd guess... I'd suggest getting the vernier calipers out. ID, OD, length, and then start calling around the seal importers to see what they can do for you.

You may need a seal driving tool as well, have a look at http://www.moto1.nz/suspension-tools-613/fork-seal-drivers

It's well worth shopping around, prices vary pretty widely.

OSSAs generally have Betor forks Metric
Fit a parts fiche or book on the net
They will generally have the seal size listed.

they bought them just like you can...
and the same with bearings...

Find a seal/bearing shop on some industrial estate. They almost always have something.
