If I can get my bike back together this weekend then I'll be doing the "West side story" route. Its in bits at the moment as I've been doing some mod's for the longer trips.

Is there a website or other contact details for this? I've had a quick look but can't find any. Looks like a good ride, and/or a handy training run for February.

Yep, didn't think the rain was that bad for the coast and at least it wasn't cold over there...but yeah half way thru Lindis it got wet again you could see the crap spilling over from the divide that wind sucked - lots of buffeting  , it warmed up between Fairlie and Geraldine back to ChCh.

lol well done,
We must have hit more rain as it absolutely pissed down all the way from 10 kms out of hoki to about paring then steady rain to makarora but we hit hoki about 1pm from fairlie start.

Had to pull the pin in omarama about 10pm and got a motel as we were frozen coming through lindis.
Got up early and finished back in fairlie inside the 24 hours so was a successful challenge.
1650kms from Friday night leaving home to return sunday morning.:2thumbsup :clap:
