Hi guys
I just brought a XR250 and a CRF50 for my son.
I still have the old trailer my brother and I brought about 12 years ago.

A mate brought a YZ125 and we brought the trailer.
(we never got any papers for it and it was last registered in 1987 !!! )

our bikes were newer than the rego even back then

So .............
who do I go to to get it registered and WOF

only thing wrong with it is it needs a coat of paint
Wheel bearing have been done.
the tow ball thing is a old screw in type which I think maybe a problem.

any idea's would be great

i have looked at the LTSA site but its crap!

You don't need to VIN a trailer, don't need a WoF before rego, but I'd get the WoF first.Toss that screw coupling, even if it passes a WoF I'd ditch it,they are old, real old.

I had to rego first so it was back on the computer.
So then I could get a WOF.

I know it sounds back the front.

hi grant. funny , Ive tracked you down online ! haha

I went to super cheap autos and wrote down the pin config 1-7
But the bloody plug only has 5 wires and the pin for the earth doesnt work.

I will pickup the trailer and then do it the old fashoned way!

Shouldn't I get a new number plate before getting a WOF?

can I change the screw coupling or does it have to be done by a engineer?

thanks

If the plug is damaged or faulty, replace it with new one. Wiring hopefully is still good.

Blowing all the fuses in your car. No thanks. Test they work by wiring up your battery as required to turn on each light set.

Was in same boat as you back in 2000 and I went into the Glenfield testing station on the North Shore.
Simply hitched up trailer and drove up to their door step, hoped out and said I needed a plate and wof for said trailer. They'll tell you to fill in this form and that, pay this money and such. It's quite cheap ($100?) and easy provided your trailer is up to wof standard. Budget 30 minutes. Ring ahead first to see what else you might need to bring.

Got a tool box? Anybody can unscrew the old coupling and put on the new - assuming it's not welded on then she's slightly more difficult. SuperCheap and Repco sell couplings ($30?).

Coupling bolts may need to be a special grade of steel. And the safetychain has to be bolted, not welded.

You will have to redrill the drawbar for a new coupling, those old couplings were only a two bolt mount.Hope your drawbar is wide enough for 4 bolts....
