Few years ago i am build my first test bench... inertial bench.
normally i test minibike engine... but now i want modify it or re-build, for testing other types of the engine... kart, mini-gp, pit-bike...
The software is not a problem, i use soft engine... and i'm fine... but i thinking how to modify it.
you have ideas to build one test bench?

Our engines are all direct drive so the pictures below show what we used. I would replace the Lovejoy coupling with a one way clutch for larger engines. The article I wrote describing the construction and operation is too big to upload. I also have an Excel spread sheet that calculates the approximate run up time and stresses for the flywheel. The stress part was verified by an engineer, but I made some simplifying assumptions to calculate the run up time.
