My Kaswaski gpx buy possible blown engine

Hi just got this kawaski gpx 250 ex and its got a oil leak under the right side by the alterantor

cover . the guy i just brought from said engine stoped he had it running but has a knocking sound.

worst case time to get a second hand motor . this leak has me wondering never seen this before.

Is it a split in the crank case . its not where the cases split . it didnt have alot of oil in the crank case.

Do you think crank has let go and caused this seems werid to me i never had a bike with a leak

from the crank case before. bit bummed its the second 250 i brought with munted engine .

I have the engine out and in the process of buying a

2009 Kawaski ninja engine. i know there not a direct

plug in but rather have a newer engine. carbs are diffrent

smaller but i will just use the 1987 ones . only thing is

he exhust headers are smaller too .

I was thinking it was the carbs . Yes must been moment madness .he was very vague thought he didint know much . Anyways got a 2009 ninja motor in there know . I should said take it away . When saw the oil . I was so set saving up getting it . Must affected my judgement . Am too trusting .fact refused give me any money back . Was poor but guess . Who i be visting in wellington on my way home :-)
