I've just ordered some items from revzilla and am in urgent need of them, does aybody know the estime time I would get the items?

Ordered 29 November

Does their standard shipping include weekends as delivery days?

They cannot give me an estimate time for international deliveries

Past experience with them (and other US companies) is 5-10 days generally. They will give you a tracking number which allows you to following your goods across the USA and world. Sometimes the longest part of the trip was Auckland to Christchurch ....

I've ordered from them before & I can vouch as mentioned, 5 to 10 days

(5 - 7 days USA to Ak NZ, 3 Days Ak to anywhere else in NZ)

You can't have been in urgent need of an item if you ordered it overseas...:innocent:

Revzilla are pretty swift, most times when I've ordered stuff from them, 5 calendar days is the norm. Faster than some local suppliers...:innocent:

Ive found them good apart from one item that went walkabout. But that was the carriers fault. Normally 5 days.

That's the truth:-)

I still don't understand why when I order bits from the US, Canada or Australia they get here quicker than from companies (mentioning no names) in the North Island.

I have tracked parcels that take two day to get from US east coast to Los Angeles, and other two days to get to Auckland and a week to get from Auckland to Wellington. NZ Post makes USPS look really good.

Can take a couple of weeks, depends on which carrier is being used and where they make up consignments for the next step.

Worst I had from the US was 3 weeks, watched the tracking and it was city>regional>state>mainland depot>hawaii>auckland>3 days>christchurch, I guess the customs stuff takes some time to process.

If the value is over $450, add a week, because NZ customs will take a few days to process, plus time it takes to pay duties, taxes and fees.

Yeah, a couple of days across the US and 5 - 7 from Auckland to Christchurch. Our mail and customs are a bit slow.

Cheers

What's the process like dealing with NZ customs, they send you the bill with the item to your address? or they mail you a bill and once paid they courier the item?

The latter, although I've always been contacted by phone or email rather than snail mail.

It depends, some customs agents will ring, some will email and some send a letter. The letter of course adds a couple of days to the whole thing. Customs used to just ring you up and you gave your credit card over the phone, that was pretty efficient. When they start charging GST on under $400 items I expect things will slow down even more.

I think the process under $1,000 is a little less formal. Anything above requires an impoerter to register, which is simple but an extra step.

Yeah, you need to have a number but that's all. It doesn't change any of the paperwork.

Depends on shipping option/carrier, most of mine have been snail mail letter from customs which they only seem to post out once or twice a week. This time of year they will be busy with everyones online xmas shopping....
If/once you get gst/duties letter, pay online or over phone with credit card and usually on the courier that night.

It will most likely be with Customs, and they are generally pretty unhelpful if you try to rush them :/

I had the direct dial number somewhere, I charmed it out of lovely lady at NZ post. If your lucky someone is near the phone desk in warehouse and picks up. Have a plausible story ready about why you’d parcel is more important than the thousands of others there.
Have a pen ready as if your lucky they might have already done it and if you get the dollar amount due and release numbers you can pay online ASAP and get parcel moving. If not they are good at actually getting to it that day and wait for letter.
These people are genuinely busy so be polite and use sparingly or we risk this shortcut disappearing...

The notification for the last two items I bought that attracted GST came snail mail. The package contained a phone number and NZ Post had my email address. The letter comes telling you the date that the parcel arrived, but that date is fantasy because the tracking had already told me that it had arrived days prior. The date they say it arrived is probably the date someone at Customs got around to looking at it.
