Hi guys,

Im after some advice regarding rim offset, Im looking at replacing the front rims on my 2WD TRX300 ATV, problem is finding any reasonably priced 2nd hand ones is almost impossible :(

Anyhow I could possibly get my hands on a pair of rear 11x7 rims reasonably priced, but this begs the question as to what difference this would make to the handling of the bike etc, would it result in any noticeable difference, cause any undesirable issues in the long run?

Or am I better off just saving my $$ for another month and buying new aftermarket rims for the front with the right offset?

Cheers in advance

Chris

If the negative offset is greater than the original rim it will increase the scrub radius, in other words, the tyre centre line will no longer be over the steering axis, causing the tyre to rotate around the axis as the steering is turned lock to lock, rather than turn more or less on its centre line.
The main upshot of increased negative offset is heavier steering, but not much else that you would notice.
