NZ Suzuki Series (-;

as they are the major sponsor that would be perfectly logical, although the program says suzuki series, have you other ideas?

...I have ideas all the time, they usually involve a Honda or getting out of having to leave my gate...

Aha, cool bike! Still a sensational lap time! Looking at the rest of the times he must be very bored out there by himself. From time to time I had races like that and it felt no different from practice or a track day. I'm not sure what the other pre-89 riders can do to combat a combination of a brilliant rider on basically unobtainium exotica.

The usual solution is to change the rules haha.

Cool there is one on trademe! Does Eddy have four or five of them? Had a laugh at the first paragraph..."these are very rare sports bikes with only 546 being made".

Been waiting a while for the pre 89's to catch up to where they should have been. Holden on the Budget GSXR1100 was into the low 9's in period - and the 750's immediately went into the 8's at the first WSB round. Given tyre and shock development they're still not there yet.

The owner is Mike Webster, same guy Sketchy has always ridden a Bimota for.
I'm pretty sure Horst Saiger got a 1.07 out of my GSX1100 around there, Friday practice, Manfield Suzuki Series 2015.
He virtually tossed it back at me & said bluntly, "zat ees ass fast ass eet can go"

The track was resurfaced about when the gsxr's came out yes?
I'm assuming it is still very bumpy? I've not been there for several years now....

Memory says they'd gone quicker in unofficial practise earlier in the week in '88.
Qualifying may have been damp - race day certainly was as Tardozzi discovered at the splash....

I think everybody in the stands was looking - I can't think of a more public place to fuck up.

And then it turned into pure Italian farce with the team manager and machanics running across to him - and a lot of shouting and gestures...

The fastest lap from race 1 at Manfield from WSBK was Fred Merkel 1m 16.12s, wet race. Race 2 Stephane Mertens 1m 11.26s on slicks on a drying track.
This is the first year they came here, 1988.
1989: Race 1, Mike Dowson 1m 15.57s wet. Race 2, Aaron Slight 1m 08.17s dry.
1990: Race 1, Terry Rymer 1m 08.48s, Race 2, Rob Phillis and Raymond Roche
1m 08.39s.
1992: Race 1, Aaron Slight 1m 07.38s, Race 2, Doug Polen 1m 06.97s.
Dug out some Motocourses to check times. :niceone:
I remember roche in 1990 odd he was on fire in the second race till his conrods decided to surrender and left the crankcase.
