He was frigging impressive to watch, seemed weird watching this quick bike zooming around the track with no sound, mind you once the 1198 Ducati in the formula sports whizzed past my hearing wasn't that flash, lol

On another note, the racing was bloody awesome and a huge thanks to all concerned, they pushed through them so fast it was all over way too quickly for me.

On another tangent after arriving at 7.30 so as to not miss practice, I got held up chatting to another enthusiast before reaching the first gate allowing access into the circuit center, the gate finally opened to let some very agited public across nearly 3 hours later, I didn't bother because the view was pretty damn good from that gate, halfway up from the Robert Holden corner heading to Toyota. Many paying spectatators got frustrated (judging by all the rude comments) and many after walking up and finding no escape came back and made their way down to the walkover at the esses, prob ok for the younger and more able bodied.

From 0730 till the last race the gate was opened maybe 5 times over the 9 hours, there appeared to many spectators several opportunities while collecting bikes, interviews with riders etc, personally I reckon just a quick 2-3 mins after every 2nd race would have alleviated some of the angst.

maybe they had no staff for that gate, either or a bit poor, the day went incredibly smoothly one red flag during the races for a crash, and one for a poor start, i was impressed with the riders for riding within their limits, early rain told everyone that they were human, and the staff cleaning crashes so as not to delay where possible.
dunno what the weather gods did but it looked like long and consistent rain from early afternoon in the sky and then it just lightened up

Having done the CoC's job many times, both on permanent tracks and street circuit, spectator crossing is something you have to deliberately remember.
Not something you have to think about at a permanent circuit...and easy to forget.

it looked like long rain was coming so in the morning they were probably trying to get it through quickly to be fair, the event finished the earliest for years, before four pm, unlike one year when it went to 7.30 at night

It went pretty good, I talked to him in the garage, they were just changing the suspension settings as he said it was too bumpy

Was another cracker day, the racing was fantastic (especially those Sidecars) The gixxers were way more appealing spectator wise than at Manfield despite the 2 or 3 who struggled with the Robert Holden cnr. Listening to the lap times I think I even heard the Classic chairs were getting down under the 60secs ?

edit, that red flag start seemed fair, he had his hands up before the start and would have hindered anyone behind etc.

They used to be big days in those times of a thousand hay bales, lol

There's only a couple that can do that

Probably be the last year you see any hay bales, the FIM no longer consider them acceptable as crash protection

I think the previous Trident powered record holder who seems to be able to jump on anything and make it go fast along with his sister on that flying beemer chased by the green Guzzi would be the two.

Got some nice little video clips of them coming out of the R. H. cnr and entering Toyota

Yeah was meaning to ask about that. We only got past the not flower gardens and it was finished. Usually we make it to the front straight or first corner. Seemed like there was less races (didn't keep program).

And what happened with the 2nd F2? Couldn't hear much at certain parts of the track.

one fuckwit stopped fifty meters after the start line after he'd won the race and did a burnout for his mates, yes he was off to the side but there was still a full feild to come through and he could've been clocked well and truely, especially as on the last lap a few riders usesd the slip road they were going that fast.

That 'leccy' bike was well impressive. Obviously a very good rider. Skinny little tyres! Was in third when the first part was red flagged. Does anyone know what bike it was actually? Didn't look like a sports bike, more like one of the town/commuter type ones. How long until half the field are running electrics?

i doubt it was anything first, japs can make things from scratch these days... Kishimoto was on his fourth cemetery circuit, he earned the nickname crashimoto first time but was a standaout rider three years ago in f3 clearly more commited everywhere than anyone else, and has had a 2nd at 3rd at wanganui before

I hope the authorities pinged him for it, especially on a street circuit.

not sure, but there highlights things over here,
'especially' is an interesting word, seems rules apply a different way to some people depending on how the people are feeling on the day these days.
