My Android phone (Samsung J2) used to have a search bar on the home screen. This has run away to somewhere that I cannot find.

Any idea how to retrieve it?

they're all different, and i don't android, but i'd guess:

long-press the background/homescreen and choose "add item/widget to desktop/workspace" from the menu that pops up.

Umm on my Android (should be universal) go to the home screen, touch and hold anywhere on the screen and a 'widgets, wallpaper etc.' thing should appear, I'm guessing you'll find the search bar in there.
