Belly Pan mods

I have a Korean bike. I would LOVE to fit a bellypan to it but as the make is a bit...obscure... in NZ (and almost anywhere else) I was wondering about modifying another bikes bellypan to fit my bike.

Has anyone done this before? Or is this just wishful thinking...

Im moderately handy with bending bits of metal etc so I could make some brackets. Of course I cant mod exhausts and frames.
