Judging from the expression on the face of Mav after testing, I think he wants to stay home
MM? Zarco? Rossi? Dovi? Lorenzo? et al.... I see no shortage of contenders right now. FP3 will clear some of the fog.

Wasn't Zarco leading last year until he binned it? That may be my bet. :innocent:

I think that was the first 8(?) laps.
I had 10 on Dovi (at 8 to 1) last year. Close but no cigar. Kept me glued to the screen and shouting advice though.

$10 on Marquez for a podium @ 1.60. About as safe a bet as any at this stage I think. I will wait to see how Lorenzo looks before throwing more money around.
I really hope ol' 9 fingers has his race head on for the first race of the season. I hate to see someone of his ability farting about in the last 5 (funny though).

I'm not so sure about that. I'm thinking he may play it safe knowing he traditionally doesn't go that well there and just bring it home for points. I'm thinking in 4th.
All of my $100.00 is on Zarco. So it could well be a pretty quick challenge for me. But I was hoping to start with a hiss and a roar. That, and I don't really care as it was money for jam from the rugby.

For the win Bro. But as mentioned, it's a fucking long shot, and a sure way to lose the comp in the very first round. But hey, I'm without doubt keen on a long shot every now and then!

20 on Marquez for a podium - TAB were paying 1.70 for a win and 1.30 for a place. :weird:
2 on Rins for a podium @11.00

$10 on MM for podium... $3 return if he gets it lol

That 1.30 is money for jam. Who would go for the 1.70 for the win when a podium pays so well in comparison.

Miller should have had a 30 second head start. He can rightly feel hard done by IMHO.
I am going to stay out of the main MotoGP thread for a while lest I become collateral damage in the poo-flinging contest. Roll on COTA where my boy Rins will be triumphant. :woohoo:

I don't think it's likely. Yamaha would like that and have suggested it should happen, but the consensus as I've seen it says he has been penalised so that's it. Race direction do need to toughen up but they also need to be 100% accurate if they do.
In case anybody hasn't already read enough about the drama Motorsport Magazine have articles by Oxley and Freddie Spencer both of whom are knowledgable. David Emmett has three part coverage of the weekend on his Motomatters site.
Good punting guys.

So far Rins and A Espargaro have $5 each for a podium. If they both do it I will have enough to retire (almost). I will run an eye over FP4 and Quals before chucking more money around.

Sorry I couldn't do this this year.
Having moved island rebought a house (doer uppererr) and started my own business chucking away $100 wasn't an option this time round. I'll be a millionare soon all going to plan though so will start the Motogp $1000000000000 betting challenge :D
If I were doing it though I'd be hammering a fair amount down on Zarco for a podium next round. Oui oui, poo poo.

That would be brilliant Autech. When they gave me a fiver, I worked it up to 41 dollars and some cents betting on football - then lost the lot on what should have been a dead cert (Tui).

$15.40 not so good!
Quick look at the odds right now and JL, MV and VR are all sitting really nice for a small bet on the win
If I were you and betting I reckon it would be worth putting $1 or $2 on each of them for the win as they all stand a good chance this weekend. The closer you get to the race the less risk there is in knowing who will win, but you also get less payout so have to bet more. This is how I made my moneys last year in early betting based off previous form and hoping for the best. Worst case scenario is you drop to $10 but best case you will improve slightly for next round.
Either that or throw it all on Rossi or JL now and get the prayer beads out.
Alex Rins at $51 for another dollar if you are feeling cheeky as you never know. Going off previous form I think it unlikely the Honda boys will win but MM will find a way to fuck you off no doubt.

Still remember shouting myself hoarse in that race (was when I first started watching Motogp) and I was a real JL fan solely because he wasn't Rossi lol. Great battle.
My money would be on Rossi this weekend, I just have a feeling he's going to pull out the old magic if he can get the bike up there at the end. Which is a big IF.
