I tracked down race bodywork for my racebike, but the dzus style fasteners had been lost.

Ordered some from cardwells, but theyre the wrong size, (diameter too big) and they dont seem to sell the right size.

Looks like the ones I need are a 6mm diameter, and about 10-13mm long.

Anyone know where I can source some? prefer closer to NZ for ease of returns if they dont fit. Really keen to actually get this project onto the track, its been sitting around for nearly a year now

I've always gone to Reid and Twiname who were the original Dzus stockists in NZ - but I see they don't have a branch in Dunedin...

Used to be a place in Penrose. They supplied all sorts of fasteners, hardware etc. I'm sure someone here will know the name.

I was looking for Dzus Panex 1/4 turn fasteners last month - and even visited the EDL head office - they sent me to the guys down the road who could not supply either.

In the end, I bought from a place in the UK. If you do a bit of hunting, you can find their catalogue on line and establish exactly the part number you need as there is a defined code to the parts system, noting overall length, head, dia of shank, the type, and also groove depth, finish etc.

I also bought spares......!

I had the same problem. Kevin at 'Racesupplies' got has some in the sizes we want for fairings. Though as you can see by the TM price, they ain't cheap! If you have time, Ebay is so cheap, you can order a bunch of them at different sizes for a couple of bucks.

I've never had any luck with finding Dzus stuff locally, always ended up buying from either ebay or KurveyGirl.

The ones I ordered off trademe turned up. (fuck they were pricey!)

They took some finessing and bending to get them to work. (they are on the bodywork in mock-up while I do an oil and fluid change)

expensive way around it, but better than waiting weeks for them to arrive and then them not working like I expect.

hope to have it on the track in a few weeks (ive owned the fucking thing for a year - though it was road legal so i got about 1000 km of road riding in mid last year) so looking forward to going and giving it a really good thrash.
