NO PATCHES, BYO, OR ATTITUDES
Went to this back when I was Tauranga and again in 2003, and will be making an effort to going down for this this year. Although Maketu Gentalmen's Club is a BEARS club, they have an awesome attitude to All Riders (my Japper was more than welcome and there was good mix of bikes there). Fu*ken good hosts, bloody good kai, and usually have awesome bands playing at the after ride rage on the Saturday (often the Friday night before as well):spudguita :Punk:They have a  licience for the night so just bring the bling bling (no Eftpos so make it cash). Bring you tent and bed roll so you can crash-out down by the beach (or just stay-up all night).
Highly recommend go to this, just leave you attitudes at home and bring your bike.
Hope to see a few KB'ers there and looking forward to see a few of my old Tauranga riding friends as well:niceone:

Hope to catch up with few of the Maketu Gentlemen this weekend at the Treble-T up Kaitaia. I might ride up Friday night (late after work), or (if I'm feeling lazy) Saturday morning. The Northern Riders running this and they are another bunch of good buggers.

Well had a good catch-up with the Maketu boys at the Treble-T last WE. The Buell and Sporties riders gave me a good run for my money too. Looking forward to their ride on the 26th:ride: :spudguita :apint:  Sweet:Punk:

I had a ball at the "Stampede" last year. Was an awesome weekend and the Maketu Gentlemen really know how to put on a good do.
Will there be a Poker run this year?

Looks like "Roxanne" will be in her black "Dress" for this. I've found some new cracks in her white ones.
With having to work late on Friday, I could be going down very fuck early Sat morning or very late on Friday.

Well the Ride has been cancelled. I got all gassed & geared up, stopped in town at a mates who rang the club. They reckon it'd be cruel to take cold wet folks out for more so flagged the ride. Im sure they will all be having a :drinknsin by now.:spudwave:

You earn it (soft co*ks need not apply).
"Roxanne" and I left home Friday at 9pm set-up for "Romantic-Rain-Riding" ("Roxanne" so sooo sexy when she's wet). Had the tent and sleeping gear with me so, if I needed to stop, I could pitch and crash-out. With the weather forecast for heavy rain somewhere between Whangarei and Auckland the weather over Brynderwyns was no surprise. By the time I had got to Wellsford, I had already proved the housing that I had made for the detector was waterproof (not much else was). Got to Papakura Autobahn by 12midnight still in the mood to ride. Someone there told me it was fine when they had left BOP, so I though "Well it could be fine on the other side of the Kaimai's." Well my romantic ride near got spoilt by a 10-15 mins of fine weather along Matamata Straights, but the Kaimai's didn't disappoint me as the rain bucketed down as I when over them (The Brynderwyns and the Kaimai always have a little competition with me but, sorry Kaimai you loose, Brynderwyns won hands down for the heaviest rain). I arrived at Tauriko (westside of Tauranga) around 2pm and still felt like riding (hey everything that was going to get wet was now). By 2:30pm I pull into their check in point at Newdicks Beach, Maketu. She's fair blowing and pissing down. Get told that the camp sites are fairly full and that a few tents have blown down. Get offered a "Codi's" (which really went diwn nicely) and a canavan berth (I tell you the Maketu Gentalman Dudes really earner their name, fu*ken awesome that bed was). 3pm I'm out for the count.
Up at 7am Sat, and she's still pissing down. Catch the van down to the main party tent down by the beach, get some breakie. By 10am everyone was well past the "Third Pub" stage with the drinks (ie: just pissed enough to think that you one awesome biker and can out ride anything) and it was still still shiting with rain. Thankfully the Maketu Gents can the ride for the day (riding in the rain by yourself is one thing, but call me soft cause I arn't keen to ride in a big pissed group on it). Everybody there was enjoying themselves there anyway, and we partied, drunk, ate, danced to the bands, watched the stripper, and talked shit all day and half the night. I got a big surprised when they called my name for "Best Jap". Seems "Roxanne's" and my "Romantic-Night-Ride" made an impression on them. By 12midnight though, my body told me it was time to crash-out, and I caught the van back to the camper.
7am Sun, the Sun is out and I'm feeling like shit. Have really enjoyed catching up on some old friends. Even though it rain the Maketu Gents still put on an awesome WE (thanks dudes, you ARE THE BEST). Cann't remember what time I headed off, but I stopped in Hamy around 10am and got some new gloves ($70) and a back protector ($80) off Quasi (thank Brent, dry gloves were sooo good, and the protector was sweet as). By 4pm Sun I've dragged my arse home, had a bath, and crash-out into to my own bed (God that felt good).
All in all, despite the rain, it was a fu*ken good WE. Will ride with the Maketu Dudes anytime. Look forward to their next one in 2007 (they only run this every 2nd year).

I meant the Buell and Sportsters group?

I meant the Buell and Sportsters group? They were Maketu boys:2thumbsup (from Maketu which is about 10Km SE of Te Puke on the Coast:shake: ) that had come up to the Northern Riders' Treble-T Ride way up at Waipapakauri (about 10Km North of Kaitaia:bleh: ).

I met some Wellington guys at BP Wairakei on Sat 26th who were going to this. It was cold as shit and wet, I spent an hour at BP thawing out (hadn't brought my handlebar warmers with me - it's supposed to be summer for God's sake!!) I hadn't heard of this run before.
