the latest bike rider has an article on the shiny side up events.
*They paid Brittany Morrow to come all the way from the states to talk about all the gear all the time
*They paid the stunt riders to do dangerous things on bikes, with a t-shirt, jeans (maybe draggin but didn't look like it) and sandshoes on

I went to that and pondered how guys doing stunts on Harleys fitted into the talk in the tent on ATGATT too. Wait a minute....stunts on Harleys..... hmmmmm.

enjoy this support from official groups while it lasts...
if JAG gets her way the only method to reducing the road toll to zero will be the elimination of powered two wheeled vehicles. Pretty soon (if we don't do something) riding a motorbike will be seen as so dangerous it will be illegal.

Following the links you get this:
Another clear link with the increase in the toll seems to be more motorcycle use, according to a major report in March by Deloitte. Motorcycles are quite simply death traps and rational people would rarely mount them. Reducing their use, however, won't be simple.

We are rapidly approaching a time in this country in which we, as normal functioning adults, will have our choices diminished (already happening in Wellington with the Council refusing to build more onstreet parking for motorcycles and scooters, forcing would be communters onto public transport) or removed entirely.
Just wait, in the next few years you WILL have a GPS module on your motorbike which, in real time, will report your speed and movements back to a central authority which will be responsible for taking your license away.
Reducing Child poverty? nah fuckit
Investment in health and services? haha nope
Taking away rights from the majority to pay for the minority? yeahhh boy full steam ahead.

Wouldn't want to be owning a big CC bike anymore if this comes in, will be bloody hard work and friggen boring keeping to 70klms on a 1098, looks like my 125cc scooter might be getting more highway use then. Wonder if we will see an increase in scooter sales coming up.

that woman is extremely dangerous with her views and opinions, she wants total control and is to the point of being ageist and sexist with her views that all men over a certain age should give up their jobs so that the young can be given a free ride and now wanting to control peoples movements and the fact that the greens even considered her for co leader really beggars belief, we are heading in to very dangerous times and i can see inflation sky rocketing along interest rates

What else do people expect from a lunatic-fringe party member.
Opinionated, stupid, stubborn and likes the sound of her own voice.
If it wasn't for being American I'd say she could be katman.

Latest Beaded Wheels ( Vintage Car Club Mag) has a long article on " is this the future"
Discusses councils banning petrol and diesel vehicles from CBD's and the assumed rapid move to electric vehicles.
Greece has just banned the use of Vintage Vehicles.
You can be sure that JAG will be aware of that.
Subject: Prohibition of the use of historic vehicles in Greece
Answer(s)
By virtue of recently adopted legislation (Joint Ministerial Decision No Α econ. 55972-3112 [Government Gazette, Series II, No 3641]), the Greek Government has essentially banned the use of historic vehicles, an international first, since no other State in the world has banned the use of such vehicles.
The above legislation also provided for huge fines to be imposed on the owners of historic vehicles, thus making any use thereof impossible.
These restrictions have dealt a decisive blow on historic vehicles and will lead to the disappearance of such vehicles and motorcycles in Greece.
This is also a blow to a number of professionals whose work is related to historic vehicles.
The Hellenic State will also incur a loss, as it will no longer collect customs duties from the import of historic vehicles and the numerous spare parts that are necessary for maintaining them.
In view of this, will the Commission say:
— Is it aware of this situation?
— Are the decisions recently taken by the Greek Government compatible with EC law?

and they have banned 4 wheel bikes too.

Singapore banning pre 2003 motorcycle due to emissions.

Looks like emissions will be the tool of choice for getting ride of ICE vehicles.

I think there is a good reason behind as to why it's not publicly shown on the media much.
1. Mentioning "suicide" frequently on media can influence, and give ideas of actual suicide.
2. If high rate of suicide rate are reported frequently people will think it's okay since "everybody does it".
3. If suicide victims are put under limelight, some potential "victims" would consider it an opportunity to be seen and get attention. Sadly happens a lot in South Korea and Japan. Drinking bleach in front of live webcam is another example.
4. Nobody cares. A lot of them are blamed and labeled as weirdos, hobos, drug/ drink addicts, and dole bludger first rather considered "people in need of help".

This country is going down the tubes and we only have ourselves to blame for sleep walking into it.

Increasing population size would match those numbers.
The mental health aspect certainly doesn't get the attention it deserves.
