The wife was sorting through knitting patterns and these dropped out...

The Homebuilt TR3 is the young racer at Ruapuna circa '72. Girlfriend's 100E - and dog.
R5 ported to TR250 timings, TR250 pipes, T500 32mm carbs. Fairing from the excellent Foxton fiberglass.
Seat and tank by Tony North in ChCh. Tank a lowered TR500, seat from a pattern I made.
Rear triangular, carbs, pipes and info from Mike Sinclair...
Not a bad club racer at all.

The pit scene is historic. It's the first ever event run in the SI by the Register - a bent sprint on the East end of Cust.
Fat bugger getting changed scrutineered the event and rode the Ossa of which the white rear guard is in the foreground.
Mark Brooks has the Ossa now as a very nice GP replica. The red tanked bike leaning on the van is the Chambers family GP Triumph/BSA
which has made many appearances since. Bas himself rode it there - on tyres I was very dubious about...cracked.

I remember a pic of you on the macchi at the Sunken bridge....If you can find it, put it up.
The NI guys won't believe it.

Well Greg, found the photo. Cust reunion meeting, Circa 1993. First photo tapped out in top gear over small bridge- on shingle! Second is battling it out with Kerry Reeves on Bob Harris' Royal Enfield. Had to give best to Kerry on the day, buy the bike is 500cc, and Kerry was a very competent scrambles rider. I remember after he got past me, I was peppered with rocks from his back wheel, it bloody hurt my legs, feet and hands!! As for ther front of the bike- fairing needed repaint, fork legs repolishing, etc. Those guys back in the day were supermen!
Wish I had one of me struggling to keep your Villiers on the powerband! Two strokes!!343678343677
