1983 Honda cbx 550 value?

So my wife's grandfather has a 1983 cbx 550 and can no longer ride it so has asked me to sell on his behalf. I can't find anything to base the value off?
Its done 98xxx khs so quite high bit its in really good nick for the age and khs. Its been dereged.

It looks like a really nice bike but I just don't know what its worth. Any ideas? I'll upload pictures if needed

Alternatively start a Trademe $1 reserve auction and you will find it's exact value in New Zealand - that being whatever the highest bidder pays at the end of the auction.

Is that the model with the encased front brake disks?

I get that is a 750 but you will see they dont know what its worth either. Grandads one will be the white with two blue stripes one? There was actually one on tardme fairly recently I think

in terms of my guess as to value - maybe $2500 to $3k based on nothing.?

Yep blue with white stripes. Located in Auckland too which I assume would.make it a bit easier to sell.

...we got 750 bucks for a really good cbx 550 rolling chassis a while back...they are Honda, beautiful to ride and odd fucking things...inboard shit was a fucking time consuming hassle but was worth the hassle...internal chains should have rigorous eyeballings and tolerances verified periodically...I'm glad the nostalgia period is over for me...

This model CBX 550 F2 was a Japanese domestic market model that blue wing Honda bought in
Around 83/84 180 KPH Speedo and slightly less output with smaller exhaust outlets .
The odd one comes up on trade me $2-$3k mark . The NZ ones were a quick bike in there day 200k
On the back straight of Pukekohe . Don’t put to much air in the back shock .
Not the most sought after old bike out there but will go up in value with time like most others.
Good little bike around town with short wheelbase and quick steering.
Bugger to get the wheels off till you get used to it.
