View Full Version : Ignitech ignition touring reliability? Anyone out there done this?

Hi All

I'm weighing up whether or not to fit an Ignitech Hall Effect ignition unit to the Ducati 900 Supersport.

I've already got the kit and it's blingtastic, with all the goodies. There's no doubt in my mind that this is the go-to accessory for a track bike, but I'm having reservations about long-way-from-home reliability.

Most of my riding is long distance back country touring. I don't ride in all weathers but getting caught in rain or the occasional mucky gravel road is a reality. Being several days from home is also something that happens. Top end performance and smooth running's good but the stock ignition, for all its clunkiness, has shown that it can handle flat batteries, failed regulators, general abuse etc etc.

I'd imagine there are a few Ignitech's out there by now... how's it working out, if you own one?

All on race bikes x2 but no dramas.

Just put one on my RZ road bike. Can't see why it would be less reliable than old original kit.
Haven't tried thier passive components, just cdi.
