Hi peeps,
does anyone know who can fix an ABS unit on a BMW R1200GS 2006? It is an ABS III or iABS or called integral ABS. I know of companies overseas, one in Germany so I know it can be done. I was wondering if there are any companies in this part of the world who could fix it. If you know anything could you please let me know?
Thanks
Benny

Unfortunately not without taking the bike apart. The unit sits underneath the tank.
Thanks

Does it have a black circular cylnder on one end around 80mm diameter & 60 to 70mm long?
It's the electric pump motor. It does not have any wires coming from that part, regardless of the fact that it's a electric motor. If it looks like this I can fix it. Same as many BMW cars of that era.
You may need it to go on a GS901 scanner to clear the two fault codes it will have stored due to the fault.
Very common problem. I'd almost call it a manufacturing fault, or design flaw.

BMW certainly called it a manufacturing fault.
The bro was told that all of that crop of R1200GS were recalled for ABS module replacement everywhere except NZ. BMW declined to contribute in any way towards the replacement for his 25 month old machine.

I'm in Tauranga.
If it looks like the one in the pic & it's done the usual thing $200.
