Weekend away for Mr & Mrs Weekend Warrior

Looking to go on our first overnighter away from Auckland.
After suggestions from KB's for good rides with good accommodation at the end.
Will leave Auckland Saturday morning and happy to ride say 4-5 hours I guess.
Any suggestions?

west coast ride down to New Plymouth around the mountain & back via forgotton highway

Coromandel Peninsula, overnighting either in Coromandel Town or Whitianga via the western side of the Firth of Thames. Both have nice boutique accomodation and great eateries. Good time of the year as the white tourist vans haven't arrived yet so the roads aren't busy. Forecast this weekend is excellent.

Coroglen campsite is pretty and very peaceful. Has cabins available for good price's.

Could have come up to Whangarei and I would have done you a good deal at the Distinction Hotel, Then Day trip up via coast through Helena Bay to Russell, Ferry over to Pahia, back to Whangarei. Few beers at the local and a beaut weekend. Your loss
