Back in the dim dark past it used to be common to see comments on KB to the effect that "it's not real, it's just the Internet". These days employers are interested in what people have to say on social media and comments can have consequences. This young lady though must have set some sort of speed record.

Following the initial Twitter exchange the usual Internet bunfight kicked off with her supporters using the hashtag #NASA which promptly caught the attention of the social media watchers at NASA and her big opportunity vanished almost instantly.

Mr Hickam put an account on one of his blogs of what had happened, including that she had apologised and that he was trying to get her another position, but that entry appears to have been taken down since.

This about covers it though: http://observer.com/2018/08/nasa-internship-homer-hickam-twitter/

And no consequences. In fact an apology & a better position than the one she lost. FFS.

If she actually gets a new position, and there was no specific mention of it being with NASA.
