I,d give it a run. 80 odd hp is enough for that gig.

Reckon that exhaust would last 10 min offroad.

Yep - I'm really looking forward to having a ride on one of these. It'll be interesting what price they pitch it at. It'll need to have a price advantage over the Tiger/GS crowd in order to stand a chance. I'm certainly keen though.

:killingmeat the above photo --- its a nice looking bike, almost a shame to take it off-road and ruin the finish

I like physical things - the design of a bike is as important as the specs etc in my world. Meh, it's my thing, get over it.
So based on the above most adventure bikes just look fuggly to me. And the pretty ones, well, an't really adventure bikes (90/10 road, dirty things).
But that Guzzi is sure a pretty looking girl that looks like she would enjoy a bit of dirty stuff. Really nice job.

I actually find the fact that its air-cooled and some 75-80Bhp appealing rather than a potential show stopper.
By way of contrast the latest BMW Super-dooper GS has been having its international launch this last week. Yet more electronics, complication and inability to get the thing maintained by anyone other than the BMW stealer seems to be the consistent theme with revised/new GS models since the 1200 replaced the 1150 back in 2004.
I reckon that Guzzi may be onto a good thing with this one in more ways than one. In a similar way to how the VStrom 1000 filled the void left behind by the bigger/heavier/more complicated adventure bikes back in 2014 I've a feeling that there's a real market for something of 800-900cc and greater manageability than the big stuff.
Plus I like the way it looks too.

Joseph Merrick was a physical thing. Not much of a looker though.

The UK price has been announced - £10799.
Hopefully that'll mean an NZ price of around $20k, if not slightly less. Anything over $20k and they'll have shot themselves in the foot IMHO.
