As above, if there is anyone who is aware of what is required to conjure something up for this, please advise. I havejust about given up looking. Seems my best option will be to dismantle and try to get the individual selas or as close to...or just buy a new m/cyl...
Fuckin' ducati's and brembo! Cnuts!

from my experience brembo's shared commone bits much more than japanese brands, what forums are out there for the bike?

Yep, done the forums thing, frustratingly couldn't find much in the way of actual part numbers or kits. Apparently the best way to approach it is get ktm parts as brembo and ducati made the descision to not supply kits for their master cyls. Only for the older stuff I think

We never found a kit when I raced a 749. Throw it out and get a decent one.

Thanks, but not sure what you mean...throw away the brembo and replace it with... or do you mean that particular unit? Far as I know, all the newish stuff has no backup either, it is all just new units.
Pisses me off, throwing away perfectly rebuildable gear!
Anyhow, I bought a new unit for less than $300 so not too bad...that includes the brake lever as well!

I mean throw out the junk factory one, and get a decent one.
I went to a standard Gixxer thou one. Most important thing is to get the same size bore and offset.

Theoretically non std requires an LVV

Yep, I bought a new one in NZ for $280, unlike Drew, I don't have an issue with it, just that it is weeping. It is 14 yrs old and has sat outside for a bit so not totally surprising. I always thought Brembo stuff was regarded as being pretty good quality wise? Certainly seems to be the choice for a lot of top end machines...

I love my Brembos :woohoo:

Brembo, like any manufacturer, make factory fitted parts to spec. In this case, no where near as good as their high end stuff.

Same as the Ohlins fitted to Ducati from new. Its piss poor on NZ roads or tracks till ya get it rebuilt. And even then it's still lower end.

Ok, thanks for that Drew, tho to be fair, you probably are asking a bit more of your gear than a plodder like me!:woohoo:

True, I only ever had a Ducati as a race bike.

Funny fellows they are with spares. Was just reading this morning about a chap fettling an ex Merkel RC30 sending calipers off to brembo factory for refit but being told to buy a new master. Got me thinking about the Slightly book where he was having trouble with the (probably get this the wrong way around but as I remember it) Brembo brake system on the RC45 dragging. They disguised a Nissin master and the problem went away.

So in the shower I was wondering if the issue was the size of the bleed return which could cope under normal circumstances but not when hot? If they are badly adjusted this happens as closed off but they would be onto that. But if when hot things swelled and the brakes would not release quickly enough. Maybe a larger or repositioned return would have fixed it.

I use these guys a lot

Bevel Heaven

They do some master cylinder kits, but I don't bother much these days and just buy new mastercylinders.

You make the replacement sound like a regular thing?

No, a just a number of bikes in the shed between my brother and I that we have been upgrading or rebuilding. I got sick of dealing with worn out old tatty master cylinders and I have been progressively moving across to these on most of our race bikes (70's TZ's). Spare levers are simpler....all the same! They fit well, work well, a number of different sizes and styles to suit the applications we are using them for and they bleed up well etc and can get consistent supply.
