What does NZ Learners convert to in the UK

Hi guys,

obviously will enquire with the authorities here in the UK but I've just moved to London and wondering if anyone knows what a NZ Motorcyle Learners would convert to? I'm 27 years old if that matters and held it for about 9 years (yes I really should upgrade it at some point).

A couple of years ago I looked into it in case my wife and I moved there.
Unless a lot has changed in the last 5 years, the lowest licence of ours the UK recognise is the restricted. Which is the equivalent of their provisional.

It's not quite the same as the NZ approach so the licenses are not directly equivalent ... which means you need to check with the authorities.

For example. the UK Highway Code is similar to the NZ Road Code but there are differences (e.g. road markings) so I guess they might require you to take and pass the theory test ... but maybe not. I dunno sorry.

One thing they wont do ... is issue you with a full license. Do that bit yourself in the UK.
