View Full Version : Embedding images

I have been unable to embed images for the last few months and have no idea why. Just wondering if I have missed something or it is a settings problem. As a test, if some one would like to try the following link to
A, see if it works and
B, tell me what I am doing wrong.
https://goo.gl/images/YT13Gb
I just tried to post it in the pic associations thread, which I used to be a regular contributor to. But it just comes up with the tiny box of failure.
Thanks.

Link worked fine - do you now have access to my bank account? If so could you please add some funds :niceone:
For a picture I save the offending image to my desktop then use the manage attachments option below the box you are typing shit into.
Your image for example -

Yep, I can attach an image like that no problem, but I can't seem to embed it like everyone else seems to.
And yes, I have access to your bank account and thanks for paying my daughters uni fees for the duration of her doctorate! You really are a good bugger, I don't care about what those other people say!

Try deleting your brower's cache. That happened to me before and clearing out the cache fixed it.

Have you tried putting a direct link to the image inside the and tags?
Does that work for you?

I have tried the link I posted above? That is a direct link, or do you mean something else?

Are you talking about google or safari or youtube or all of the above?

Just safari should do it.

Not quite.
You're looking for a URL which finishes with the actual file, in this case https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/51KCyAO%2BCNL._SX450_.jpg
If you paste that between the IMG tags, the picture will post
https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/51KCyAO%2BCNL._SX450_.jpg
To get that link, depending on your browser, you want to right click the image and then choose an option like "Copy Image Address" or "Open Image in New Tab" etc etc to get the link you need. I hope that helps?

its likely to be your setting
push setting at top right of Kiwibiker page
then on the lower left of that page you push general settings
339209
SCROLL DOWN THE BOTTOM OF THE PAGE
339210
Miscellaneous Options
Message Editor Interface:
try to check if its on EITHER these two
<label for="rb_vbcode2" style="display: block; margin-bottom: auto; width: auto; float: none; margin-left: 0px;"> Enhanced Interface - Full WYSIWYG Editing</label>
<label for="rb_vbcode1" style="display: block; margin-bottom: auto; width: auto; float: none; margin-left: 0px;"><input type="radio" name="showvbcode" id="rb_vbcode1" value="1" tabindex="1" style="margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-left: 0px; padding: 0px; font-size: 12.87px; font-family: Tahoma, Calibri, Verdana, Geneva, sans-serif; width: auto;"> Standard Editor - Extra formatting</label>
If you are used to just coping in the pics from memory it only works on ether of the two options.
on basic you have to use the image tag button

Thanks yep that seems to work now, but I used to be able to just tap on the image share button and just copy the link or email link and post between the IMG tabs and it would work. But no longer for some reason...

Maybe you would be better off not commenting considering the advice you offered.
Images can be posting in a number of ways on KB he was asking how he could return to posting pics with one click.

You would lose that bet. But losing is something you are well versed in aye.If you actually read what i asked it wasn't if he could post pics but if he altered his general settings.
