Hello, I'm new here but need some expert advice. I've got an old 50cc moped for my teenage son which I have been knocking back into shape. The ignition switch was fubar and I got a universal replacement. Now I'm having trouble with matching the wiring from the new switch to the wiring from the bike.
The universal switch has four wires: red, black, white/black stripe, and green.
The bike has five wires: red, black, white/black stripe, red/white stripe, and grey.
I thought I'd be clever and connect the 3 common wires together and power it up and see what didn't work, but the fuse just blew. There might be a photo attached if it worked.
Any help would be appreciated.
