there is an intersection on the end of my road. My road is a feeder road to a more main ( mainer?) road with a triangle island.

There are often crashes there as the main road traffic has to give way and the right bearing from the main road to my road.

I slow down and get eye contact even when driving my van. It good to get motorists practiced at stopping at Give Way signs instead of just

slowing a bit.

Another tip: run a risk reward matrix in your head, riding down the motorway weaving in an out at speed ( see this a lot) Vs getting your sorry arse out of bed earlier or being a few minutes late.

Why overtake that long line of cars to keep up with your mate when your only going to stop in a few minutes to have a coffee, chances of one
turning right are up there.

Nothing says plonker at rush hour more than having your hazard lights on when lanesplitting. Car drivers are not looking in there mirrors looking out for you. Its a numbers game, but odds are lower than lotto.

I always found when lanesplitting that a burst of throttle alongside a dozing driver worked a treat.

I've noticed that people suddenly notice you when you accelerate straight towards them at roundabouts.

I believe invisibility is a mix of care/fear factors. Children often run out on roads. They are smaller than motorbikes and yet people will do everything in their power to avoid a child. They see these little people as large as life. This is the care factor.

If a Kenworth truck is coming through an intersection, would you pull out in front of it? The fear factor.

Many people won't care about us because we are not small and cute, so we need to be feared. I would suggest horns glued to helmet giving a Viking image. Chains draped over the body and perhaps some obvious weapon such as an axe strapped to the downlegs.

And if you are splitting lanes through traffic you are still going to go unseen.

Drivers fail to see trains, trucks, and busses. In one notable case in Germany a young woman pulled out in front of a British armoured column. She was luckier than the guy who pulled out in front of a bus near Thames, that was fatal.
