I dropped the DRZ a couple of weeks back and it dented/crack the stator side of the crank case.

These are circa $400 to replace from Suzuki so was looking to get it welded.
Being magnesium alloy and a small job not to many people are interested.

Anyone had this done before? and knows someone in Auckland who would do it?

Dude. It was GuyFawks last night. Apparently they burn white hot like crazy.

I've used metal epoxy knead stuff to fix previous DRZ400 cases by the final drive seals and that lasted 12xKM+ good bodge job --- since its the stator cover remove it, de-grease it, knead it from the inside out :P sorrrted!

If it was Canterbury area, I could point you at two who'd do it. Gotta be someone doing race car stuff in Aucks surely.

Edit - Try ringing Ken MacIntosh and ask who he uses.

I'll try give Ken a bell.

For the others I've thought about epoxy but would rather weld if possible.

Its one if those hard things, if it was a 50k aircraft part I'm sure someone would do it. A small weld isn't probably worth the time for a bunch of guys.
Had thought though I could find someone, hence asking around.

JB Weld is a impressive product if you can't find a economic welder.

And check Ebay for a cover if it is a bike sold in the USA. Also if sold there someone on KB will be able to direct you to a USA Suzuki dealer who sells parts internationally. From personal experience with Honda the savings can be significant for a factory part.
